we have been out of dragon fruit inc a lot recently and we always say “we’re out of the berries so it’ll look a little different but it’ll still taste the same” and then they get the drink and look at it disgusted.. like what did we tell you??
jaywithhearts33 points2y ago
this!!! i always tell them straight up “it’s not gonna be purple but it’ll taste the same” but sooo many people get mad when they see it at the window??
oceangirlie718 points2y ago
Exactly!! Same thing happened at our cafe, we ran out of berries and told them that! But when I gave them their drink they say "this is not what I ordered, it never looks like this when I get it." Bruh, I told you it would look different but taste the same!!
vivixnx5 points2y ago
personally got it like that and thought it looked cooler, the fruit doesnt have any flavor lol
FullmoonCrystal34 points2y ago
Please just ask customers if the drink is correct??? Ignoring the time it would eat up to ask every single customer, people don't understand the menu or all the appreciations, they don't know that it's what they ordered only written sensible, or whether it looks right, ridiculous

bro i fucking hate it here so much oh my god
Saltymushroom9916 points2y ago
Uh the MDR without berries is clear ?? Lmao maybe you don’t know what you’re ordering?
drinkliquidclocks15 points2y ago
The way this made me clench my jaw 😡 I have had multiple adult women throw tantrums because their no berry MDR isn't purple.
"The other starbucks can do it no problem, maybe you're just stupid"
snowflakenecklace5 points2y ago
i had a customer once demand i remake their refresher bc it wasn’t the right color... it was just short a berry or two 🙃🙃🙃
sandycat5553 points2y ago
I mean, you -probably- could make it purple if you shook it with the dragonfruit and no ice, and then strained the dragonfruit out with the lid when pouring over ice. But that would be so complicated...

BYE
C0ffeeCoffeeC0ffee14 points2y ago
What the hell did she think she was ordering??
jatar28897 points2y ago
Surprise Hannah it’s just mango flavored grape juice minus the radioactive colored “dragon fruit”
canidieyet_5 points2y ago
I had a customer order a MDR with no berries and she argued with us that the berries make a difference in taste. I’ve tried it with and without, it tastes the same either way
MrsOceanGrown4 points2y ago
When our store is out of berries we don’t sell the drink. Way easier than the hassle. Also, corporate told us we can’t say “it tastes the same”.

We recently got a review of some guy being upset over the fact that we ran out of frap base(both creme and coffee) and in his review he said "how are you out of frappuccino base its only 4pm on a Sunday?!?!?!" like yess buddy we schedule the times in which we get a shortage of things, we are out of coconut milk too but thats okay. coconut milk is supposed to run out at 2pm and its 4pm so all good! sorry about the frap base, that one isn't supposed to run out until 7pm!

This is a failure of communication on the family members part and maybe (maybe) the staff. The girl just knows she got a wrong drink, which she did in a sense. Was the family member told the inclusions were out of stock (assuming they were)? It’s impossible to know. I don’t think this is review is unfair from the standpoint that she didn’t get what she was expecting and she wasn’t the one to order it. The blame is on the communication chain breakdown from the staff to family member (probably the family member). But also, Starbucks has been out of a LOT of popular stuff recently. It’s inevitable it will start negatively affecting reviews as people get modified drinks they aren’t accustomed to.

"I had a family member pick me up a mango dragonfruit with no berries"
She got exactly what she ordered
HengroenAndLlamrei-7 points2y ago
I interpreted it as her complaint was that it had no berries when she was expecting them, not that she had ordered it with no berries. Like, she’s ordered a drink that comes with berries but when she got it, it had no berries. I think the semantics are unclear here.
cherryyyybabyyyy9 points2y ago
she said she ordered "a mango dragon fruit refresher with no berries", meaning that she didn't want berries. she obviously doesn't understand that the refresher base is clear, and the berries are what makes it the purple/pink color.
C0ffeeCoffeeC0ffee1 points2y ago
Rereading it, I can see what you mean. I still think it sounds like she ordered it that way, but it is a bit ambiguous.
arcanalalune3 points2y ago
If the sticker said "no mango df inclusions" then she ordered it with no berries
