I'm developing to be an ASM right now as well and I'm focusing a lot on coaching my peers. I have no problem coaching baristas but sometimes coaching other supervisors (I'm a SSV as well) can feel kind of awkward. If it's something small it's no problem, but bigger things I'm working on! I've been learning different coaching models and writing down anytime I coach another supervisor successfully so I can revisit that! To tie into that I'm planning to start leading our SSV meetings (something we have once a month lead by our SM) to give me some more leadership experience. If you haven't already I would check out the field ops guide for steps to excellence. It talks about developing from SSV to SM in there and has some other useful info. My store manager ordered me my own copy so maybe that's something you could ask for! My advice is just come up with an idea of how you can demonstrate you are a good leader (ex: leading a meeting, leading some sort of training, leading your stores next excellence visit, etc.) Best of luck on your Journey you'll be fantastic!!
