How do I get over the idea of letting my manager down by wanting to transfer to a different store? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I know it sounds like the answer is a simple, “Just tell her you want to transfer and get over it”. But I’ve been at that store for 6 years, I’ve seen 4 managers come and go and I feel attached to it. I’ve talked about transferring to a much closer store to where I live and she told me she really doesn’t want me to leave, and I feel like if she didn’t care as much then she would’ve just told me to do what I feel is right. I really do wanna get over it and just tell her I want to transfer but I’m so torn, help me with a little extra push my dudes.

just ask what you need to do in order to transfer. I understand being attached to a store, but it’s a job and it’s a corporate company. as long as you don’t have any bad marks on your record you’ll be fine to transfer. just say “I’d like to transfer to ___ by the end of the month. who do I need to contact to start the process?”
