181 clocking out for the last time. Thanks for six years of camaraderie, fulfillment, support and fun, abruptly followed by three years of overwork, gaslighting, vindication and Stockholm syndrome. But as for you guys, I’ll love you all forever. Godspeed(i.redd.it)

Glad to see people make it outta here. Good luck in your future

Thanks, I found a nice job that pays better but doesn’t offer benefits so hopefully I can make arrangements for that. Good luck to you going forward, I will be rooting for all the partners still sticking it out.

can’t wait for this to be me again. 242 rehire- came back thinking a new store would be a fresh start. busiest store in the region, but every day we’re out of essentials, we’re never staffed, and i can’t take much more trying to carry bar through 76k-sale weeks all while only getting paid 10 an hour.

Good for you ❤️ best of luck

Congrats on your freedom!!

good luck!!
darthvulsa16 points2y ago
Congratulations! I’ve actually been able to chip my own schedule down to a bearable 20 hours per week, so it hasn’t been as bad for me as it has been in the past when it was my full time. It’s always great t see a fellow partner succeed! -197....

I’m a 247xxxx feeling the same way. I’m glad you’ve chosen to find a better opportunity elsewhere, and we wish you well on your journey!
Fearofthedark887 points2y ago
I agree, but do you believe it’s only been the last 3 years?
dancingfalconn [OP]1 points2y ago
Ehhh, it’s hard to set an exact time frame but I can tell you at my store that’s when things really started going downhill, and for the past two years it’s just been completely unbearable due to specific circumstances in our store/district. I hope they figure that mess out, I do. Overall though I feel like Kevin just took the company in a direction that wasn’t cohesive with what Starbucks had always been in the past, and that started to disrupt and infect a perfectly functional ecosystem. I guess, maybe, idk. It’s a whole thing to get into, and I’m sure other places are having a similar experience to my district, it’s just a long timeline and complicated web that led us here, but here we are.

The numbers are already at 247? Holy shit. Thanks for making this 195 former partner feel like a fossil. Lmfao Best of luck in your future endeavors!
PolymathHolly7 points2y ago
The numbers have hit 300 actually. We have a trainee that’s got one.
strawberrifield4 points2y ago
I was a 247 in 2019!
fariotas2 points2y ago
I'm a 268 from 2019, from April too, wow that must've been a good year for starbucks
iWantToBeARealBoy3 points2y ago
Lol I’m a 25xxxxx and I’ve been with the company for almost 3 years now. Plus OP is a 181
dancingfalconn [OP]1 points2y ago
Yup, I think April 12th would have been my actual 9 year anniversary
Heyyitschevalier2 points2y ago
im a 290 started in july of '20 I think the nmbers are rising so fast because of the high turnover rates.
CS38834 points2y ago
I can't wait to leave at the end of the year. Here's to hoping I can even make it to then and won't quit earlier to take less pay just until school is up
dancingfalconn [OP]1 points2y ago
Are you going to school through Starbucks?
CS38832 points2y ago
Nope I go to a local technical school and pay out of pocket. What I'm studying requires clinicals and that can't be done online. I think the starbucks school thing is kinda worthless but that's only because the majors I would want to study aren't available since they all would require clinicals being in the medical field.
I have contemplated working in the OR as an assistant of some sort to get me used to being in one for my career but the pay is almost $4 less an hour than what I make now :(
dancingfalconn [OP]1 points2y ago
Oh my gosh, that’s a big drop in income. Since that’s the case, I think this year will fly by even if you stay with Starbucks. You’re so close to the light at the end of the tunnel. Plus you have the added benefit of relatively flexible scheduling, which is handy since you’re doing in person school stuff. I hope this year goes by so fast for you but I think you’d be making a solid choice by sticking it out at Starbucks until you’re done with school as long as it’s not too bad at your store. Keep your money up so you don’t have to worry about finances on top of learning a new job ON TOP of finishing school, you know?
Pies-in-the-Skies4 points2y ago
Good luck and Godspeed on your next journey!

I’m a month late to this, but wanted to say congratulations!
My wife left after over ten years for another job that was lower stress and higher paying, with better hours. Plus she gets to help people now! And she has since been promoted twice!
I hope your new job works out just as well and that it’s everything you’ve hoped for!
dancingfalconn [OP]1 points2y ago
Congrats to your wife, I’m so happy to join her on the other side. I’m happy to report that my income has doubled, my work life balance is off the charts better, and I’m kind of helping people I guess? Not in like any kind of heroic and self sacrificing kind of way. I help them with visual marketing for their local businesses and stuff. Logos, promotional products, uniforms, etc. Not really something I ever actively imagined I’d be doing but as it turns out it suits me and I’m really happy and actually valued here. That has made all the difference. I hope your wife feels valued where she’s at.

Welcome to the former partners club!
sholbyy2 points2y ago
Preach. I was a 175 that left at the end of 2018 and I felt exactly the same way.
dancingfalconn [OP]1 points2y ago
I sort of wish I’d left before all my good memories were burdened by the current weight of my experience. I hope you had some good times there, friend, but I’m glad to finally be in your boat
