Honey citrus mint and beverage routine (self.starbucksbaristas)

How does your store deal with this drink during peak? We have a ton of customers who order this every day and it’s a huge pain in the ass when it comes to staying in routine.

At my store the bar partners are responsible for making this drink. Which usually means cold bar does nothing for it except maybe hand the lemonade to the bar 1 partner. Then bar 1 has to walk almost all the way to the ovens to get the tea bags and take the time to put them in with the tongs.

How do I speed this process up to lower drive thru times?

So far I’ve contemplated moving jade citrus mint and peach tranquility to the bar, but there really isn’t space for it. Or I’ve thought about making it part of the warming routine to deliver the tea bags to the bar person when they hear it ordered over the headset.

At the Target I work in, when someone orders it then the person on register will actually go get the tea bags and place them next to the cup so it saves some time! I know corporate stores are bigger though and don’t write on cups

We usually prep cups and tea bags before peak and have some lemonade in each hot bar fridge that way we can get it and go

Idk anyone else in my store who does it but when I'm on CS I make sure our lil tea boxes by the bar are stocked up so they're easy to grab without having to run to the back

If I’m on drive bar and we are super busy I’ll always ask either cold bar support, front/POS, or CS if one is available to help me to set it up. Basically, they put the honey blend, tea bags, hot water, and just hand me the lemonade and I’ll steam and connect. If we are busy but no one can set it up for me, I just steam the lemonade first and while that is going set up the honey blend, tea bags, and water then finish and connect. If I have to do it all by myself I just accept that it’ll screw me up a bit LOL. I hate a honey citrus mint tea!!!!

If ordered at front cafe order routine calls for tea being gathered by register partner. If ordered in DT DTO partner would gather tea

For us, the tea is right behind our register so the reg person will prep the cup with the bags and hot water when it’s ordered, then hand it off on bar for the bar partner to finish.

We keep 2 square tip jar/clear containers right by the bars of jade citrus and peach tranquility! Then all you have to do is turn around to grab your tea bags. Sometimes the DTO person will take the tea bags out and put them in the cup for us too.

We do cups of both tea bags by each bar. Other than that, if we have enough people for CS/front, they will prep everything and hand off to bar for lemonade.
