Is anybody else sick of tiktok drinks? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I don’t mind hacks for like making a drink more affordable, I’m talking about the iced white chocolate mocha with extra caramel drizzle and sweet cream cold foam. Or the new one, iced matcha with chai. The worst is when I see fellow baristas making these videos. I’m like.....”do you like making a thousand super customized drinks with fifty steps everyday?”

For real. Cold foam on everything completely disrupts drink sequencing on cold and hot bar. It's much worse than limited time fraps that could be made 100% at cold bar. Sure a lot got ordered, but I'd take a 10 frap order over cold foam on every other drink anyday.

I’d honestly quit if my ssv cared about minor shit like that. One of my first times baring someone ordered 4 grande caramel frappes in drive thru and he actually got a little mad that I suggested blending only 2 at a time. “Throw all 4 of them mothafuckers in one blender” were his exact words. He’s one of my favorite people ever

my ssv gets sooo mad if we batch cold foam or frapps. our store is incredibly busy with 40+ people in the cafe at once sometimes, and now that its getting warmer, a lot of fraps are being ordered. one by one making 20 fraps for angry customers is hell.

The chai/matcha is just one added step so I don’t think it’s a big deal and tbh it tastes great to me. However I’m completely with you when it comes to overtly complicated ones like that new ‘peach refresher’? It’s like mango dragonfruit, no water, add peach, no inclusions, a pump of vanilla and light coconut milk like ???? What?

well technically it’s not a real thing and when people ask me if we “have the new peach refresher yet,” I say no because we don’t. It’s not a menu item so unless you have a recipe on hand you’re getting something else from me bc I’m not about to watch a tiktok video with a line wrapped around the building just so you can complain how long it took to get your drink out after you added a “bacon burrito” at the window and made *me* figure out the recipe for some made up overpriced fad of a drink

The matcha chai one is pretty easy and tastes ok... I just really despise cold foam. Can't stand it. Lol. Or when they make me read the recipe instead of just ordering 😠

Once in a while, people ask for it on hot drinks. But, nobody has asked for it on teas yet, at least when I’ve been working. The new thing at our store is asking for it on frappuccinos.

Another *tiny* pet peeve of mine is when they order, they usually don’t say ‘no whipped cream’ So, while most of us know not to put the whip on the drink, green beans may not be aware of that.

Most of our customers WANT the whipped cream on theirs. What a pain!
And we get cold foam orders on practically everything; teas, chai, refreshers AND hot drinks. I try to tell them the foam won't last but they don't care. OH! And now we are getting orders for sweet cream and VSCCF together. Sure! Pay almost $9 for that drink. Good grief! It isn't even about coffee any more.

Somebody at my store spent about 2 minutes trying to remember what drink she wanted in the drive thru and when she finally figured it out it was a tiktok drink and I had no idea what she was talking about. Had to have her read out the ingredients anyway 😂

That’s literally every drink at my store! We are so excited when we get a drink that has 3 or less components in it, but the tik tok drink are beyond ridiculous. Also the ones making these drinks clearly don’t work at a drive thru or they work in a kiosk store somewhere to where they have a lot of down time.
