How everything went bad in the matter of 2 days (self.starbucksbaristas)

Ok, so to put this in perspective, I work at a kiosk in a retailer so we have about 8 employees. Well, one of our full timers last week had their last day, down to 7, 2 of our primary workers including our lead were diagnosed w covid, down to 5, I'm going on vacation for the entirety of next week for my father's birthday, down to 4, 2 of our people are new hires who can't work alone yet, so really down to 2 people who have to get through a whole week, unless they bribe me into not taking my vacation which is unlikely, pray for the starbs kiosk 🙏🙏🙏

I’ve definitely been there.
Months before I finally left tarbux, I told me lead that she needed to start hiring new people so they could be done with their training by the time I left. At the time, we were a bare-bones team after a few baristas graduated college and left.

Essentially, we had to train 2 people to take over my responsibilities, smh. Which meant we needed two more to replace their work and 2 more to have a full team.

My lead kept putting off until my last week. She hired three people and there was only one other trainer on the team. The newbies started on my last day.

My lead asked if I could move my last day to a later date to help train all the newbies because there wasn’t enough coverage.

I laughed and said “I warned you months ago. Good luck.”

Moral of the story: it’s not your responsibility to step up for a store that doesn’t have their shit together.

Couldn't have said it better myself, since I'm the one with the most experience hired there they're trying to put it on my shoulders and I'm just like "nah boss, I'm good"

I could go into more detail about this but I literally just got off after finding all of this out today, I'll update later if I find it necessary. As of right now, nap time.
