this might sound dumb considering i’m a 299 and have been here for around 2 months but my steamed milk never seems consistent. like sometimes it’s too liquidy and sometimes there’s too much foam, so could someone explain (in painful detail) how to steam milk properly? i’m still confused on how far the wand should be submerged and when you’re supposed to let it sit at the top and when do you set it down?

Tbh, i hold the putcher at like a 45 degree angle and let it make the paper tearing noise for maybe 2 seconds before i put the want down till it kinda swirls around but doesn't make the paper noise, i leave it till its at about 100 to 110 degrees then put it up... its not how i was trained but i found it on youtube and it works well for me. Also if you let the milk sit while you clean the want then groom it the bigger bubbles will rise and youll be able to make it smoother

Hi!! Something that really helped me was starting with the steam wand at the bottom of the pitcher and slowly lifting it while swirling it around the pitcher BEFORE you start aerating. This helps create less air bubbles that get sucked into the wand while you’re aerating (so you don’t get that gurgling sound) and makes the milk creamier. I hope this makes sense/helps!
