When I was training people, I would use the barista training guides on the iPad. They go more into detail on how to explain tasks than the package where the checklists are on. After doing it for a while, your flow begins to feel more natural.
Good luck training! It was my favorite part of being a barista.

The guides and printouts are very helpful. I also liked to go through them beforehand so I felt like I had a good *refresher* on what the content was and the order it went/should go in.
I always liked training because I felt like it sharpened my skills and made me a more confident partner every time.

I would assure them that asking questions and using the recipe cards are nothing to be ashamed of! Make sure they know that asking questions is always more preferred than just doing things wrong.

hmmm... I'd say first of all start them with the basics regardless of their level of knowledge. Then, team up the strong ones with the weaker ones so they can learn off of each other. Give the advanced a more supporting role to encourage the beginners until they reach a somewhat equal level. Other than that just be patient and calm!
