On my way out but I'm trying to improve things for my team (self.starbucksbaristas)

I'm having a conversation with my DM tomorrow about some of the absolute bullshit that is happening at my store lately. I was begged not to transfer yet after the events I wrote about in my last post. My SM told me good change was coming, but it has been months of short staffing, improperly trained new partners that I can't put in any position and expect them to be effective, people being scheduled outside of their availability, and staying 1 sometimes 2 hours after close. My seasoned partners who are good on bar and drive are burnt out having to be stuck in one position all shift every day because they're the only ones I can put on bar or drive and be able to leave them alone for more than 5 minutes. Part of the reason I was looking to transfer is the other store I had lined up closed at 7pm. I'm so tired of closing at 8:30 and not getting home until 10, and she plans on having us open even later during the summer. Because I'm the primary night shift i don't have the option to go home early. The other night shift only closes 2 nights a week for my days off.

I'm sharing this and some of my other concerns with my DM tomorrow and seeing if she can get behind me transferring so I can stand up to my SM and finally say I'm done with this store.

Damn I guess this is happening at every store. I just asked my new SM to hit me up if he needed any coverage Wednesday. Well someone called out today and later he asked if I still wanted to work tomorrow. Now I look like a flake because I’m to burnt to say yes 😬

Good luck. My district is similarly fucked up across the board and I’m a burnt out bar partner. I’ve been slowly reducing my availability as my other job picks up (busier in the summer) and I just put in that I’m only willing to work 2 days a week and I don’t even want to be a trainer anymore.

If that doesn’t work out, I’m done entirely.
