Trying to figure out if I should quit or not... (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Pokemon-Emerald
Hello fellow partners, I’m a 298 and I absolutely hate my job. Out of the management, the constant drama that seems to circulate at my store, the SEVERE understaffing, or my current medical condition, or anxiety - I don’t know what’s worse!

I just got hired on back in February and was promised by the store manager, that each partner was heard, and most importantly was cherished. Neither of which have deemed true (big surprise I know). To give you all context, the store I work in is BRAND NEW. I got trained in an empty store - Individual, hands on training. It was very nice and I don’t take that for granted whatsoever. But nothing could have prepared me nor my other partners for opening day or any day after that.

So I’m coming to you all for possible advice on whether or not to stay. I’m not even eligible for insurance enrollment until June so it really doesn’t matter in regards to that if I stay or not. Thank you for reading this long post.

If you can't transfer elsewhere, I suggest looking for another job and then quit. Starbucks can be a great place but if that's how you feel already, you're gonna despise the place in a year or two.

284 partner here. please give it time. My store opened 3 years ago. During the first 5 months of opening, everyone but 3 of the original staff quit and they are constantly hiring new and better people. I started working there November of 2019 and we’ve had a huge influx of new people and I love them all. Also please contact partner resources. They are so so helpful. I’ve gone to my DM so many times and he’s let go of people that were causing problems.

I appreciate your response. Honestly, my coworkers (not the management) are the only reason I’ve stayed as long as I have.
