A customer came through the drive thru today and at the window she asked for a tall pup cup. I didn’t relay this info adequately to my DTO cuz I know we’ve had issues with another lady asking for tall pup cups and we try to tell her we only give them in the sample cups. So my DTO made a normal one and I was handing it to the lady, and she looked at it and me in disgust, said, “You guys are fucking assholes,” and drove off in a huff. Like ooookay, I guess no pup cup is better than too small a pup cup??

i agree. like sometimes i’m a nice person if they ask for it. especially with toddlers. i have a regular and she came through one day looking EXHAUSTED with her toddler screaming. so i leveled with her and said “hey, i have a patented toddler shut up device, it’s sugary, you want it?” and she was SO grateful. did a short cup of whipped cream with mocha drizzle and sprinkles. and she’s loved me since. but if you demand something, you get nothing.

> did a short cup of whipped cream
Ahh nice.
>with mocha drizzle and sprinkles.
You're that person, huh? Next week at another store. "Well X store did it for me??"

i’ve only ever done it for the one customer, and she’s a regular at our store and we’re tight! i have had people request a pup cup or an empty hot cup for their kid before for them to feel special, which of course i’ll do bc i think it’s adorable.

why do some customers feel so entitled to a free cup of whipped cream? we don’t have to give them any free stuff at all so why not be grateful for any size we’re giving you? and plus, dairy seriously isn’t good for dogs, especially if it’s as much as would be in a tall cup

At my store we had to start charging for heavy cream when they want anything bigger than a short

I had someone order a pup cup once (they did it at the window and I couldn't see that they didn't even have a dog) and then when I gave it to him he just lapped it up! It took me aback and I think about it sometimes...

The human?? 😂 Not gonna lie, I’ve thought about doing that. Haha
CeramicLicker6 points2y ago
I’ve had a guy ask for a pup cup and a spoon. As long as they actually bought something I don’t care if it’s them or their kid eating it. It’s probably better to give to a human as a snack than a dog anyway

True. I've had people ask for just a small cup of whipped cream too - hey, I won't judge. I don't judge the iced white mocha with extra caramel drizzle and vsccf so I won't judge you 🤷🏻♀️ But it just surprised me that as soon as I handed it to him he just immediately consumed it. 😂
CeramicLicker3 points2y ago
True! I’ve never seen someone just start licking it 😆

I wouldn’t give them any bigger than a short cup of whip without charging. I usually will give a short cup if it’s a really big dog.
canidieyet_2 points2y ago
question - how would you charge for a cup of whip? (tall size for example) since whip is free?
AvoFromCado1 points2y ago
I would just charge them for heavy cream. It’s like 70 cents I believe

We go through so many pup cups that we have to use shorts sometimes, we have a regular who's beagle "doesn't like the bigger cups" and makes us cut them smaller, she says when she orders she only wants the small cup.

Yes, we had someone coming through regularly for a while who would order a pup cup on a short lid for her dog. Every day whoever was DTO would have to try and decipher what she was saying and/or meaning because it just wasn’t something we’re used to hearing. She would get really upset if you handed her a cup of any kind or asked her too many questions. It became one of those, “Stop talking to that person before she yells; here’s what she wants,” and passing the word along. I feel like if you want something different from the norm, you should be prepared to fully explain yourself each time so you get what you want rather than expecting everyone to understand.

Yeah her drink is very specific as well we all know her, she used to sit in cafe with a blanket and complain it was too cold, so when she pulls up we are ready but otherwise she's not getting what she wants I'd say.

The only time I think a tall pup cup would be reasonable is if you have multiple animals who can't be in the vehicle with you (ive got 2 dogs and one is scared of strangers while the other will try to jump out the window to say high to everyone. I also have a cat who doesn't get along with the dogs. So none of them have had a pup cup yet)

WTF is wrong with people?!
lpcrosby1 points2y ago
i’m at a licensed store, so we do pup cups in shorts bc we don’t have sample cups

Atleast she didn’t affect your drive through times
