Just got Terminated and thinking about going to partner resources (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by IcyBluJax
Hey guys, I am a partner of 2 years at Starbucks and recently got fired. I was tardy a decent amount and I got final warning but a couple of my tardies I feel weren't fair. I got marked tardy even though I called my manager and texted him during the wildfires and the ice storm which both affected me greatly. I have the dates and that is four of my tardies that I felt were marked wrongly. During the weeks we were closed at the start of the quarantine my manager asked me would I be back for our opening week which I then responded with no I will be going down to cali to take care of my uncle cause no one else can. As I got down there he texted me and then called the day I landed asking where I was and saying that I was suppose to be there. He kept asking about all the little details about everything and wondering if there was anyone else who could take care of my uncle which I said no, he also was asking how sick he was and at that point I almost hung up on him. But I had explained to him in a kind calm matter that he was wrong and he just kept trying to pin the blame on me.

Should I call partner resources to possibly clear anything in my name, I was suppose to help open the store that I was moving to, What do you guys think?

If you were tardy a "decent amount" having a few of those cleared up isn't going to make you any less of a risk to have around as a barista. As a shift, having to rely on baristas that are constantly late is honestly really stressful, even when it's just by a few minutes. I think you're grasping at straws.

The thing is, it’s a compilation of all the tardies, not any single one or even a couple. If you had missed because of the wild fires and/or the ice storm, only, it would be no big deal because you had a solid reputation for showing up for work, but it sounds like those were just a few examples in a poor history. Sorry, man.

don’t we get leave to take care of family? Maybe that should be applied retroactively. Also, just go apply to the store you were moving to, talk to that SM, ask for a chance. If you’re a decently well trained partner who can handle multiple positions you should have value and could get rehired. But you should promise to be there on time, be reliable and communicate
