If it goes into the blender I'm gunna charge you for frapp or blended lemonade. It's not a refresher at that point anymore in my eyes. But to each their own!

If they ordered it as a blended strawberry lemonade and modified it to be the drink featured in the article, I'd absolutely include the creme base because the creme base is included in that build. I do not add it to blended refreshers unless they request it themselves, and I also do not tell them to add it because it's their creation, I'm just a paintbrush.

Someone said it earlier but the sugar in the refreshers stabilizes the drink just fine. The refreshers don't come out chunky like coffees do. I would stop ringing people up for what they didn't ask for honestly. The creme base doesn't go in any of the refreshers so the customer won't get the creme base therefore they didn't ask for that.

I think hitting double blended does get accounted for in labor, and I don’t typically recommend adding crème base to a drink that doesn’t get it typically without the customer’s knowledge cause... it’s just not typically a good idea to add ingredients the customer didn’t ask for. Refreshers typically turn out okay-ish, blended ice coffees are kind of a nightmare.

Yeah adding ingredients they don't ask for is risky because they might have some weird allergy or be watching their sugar intake for medical reasons and not account for the extra syrup.

They're worried about sugar so they're ordering a refresher with a ton of added modifications? Yeah no lol. Also starbucks states that if you have an allergy it's the customers responsibility to inform the barista and even then we cannot guarantee cross contamination. If they have an allergy to the base and we blend the refresher in the same containers even if we don't put in the base they could have an allergic reaction.

Correct me if I'm wrong but double blended modification is for Frappuccinos and other already blended drinks. So it doesn't necessarily account for the extra labor as it doesn't actually result in an up charge.
I'll have to try not using the creme base. However most people order frapps without knowing there's a base in it to help it emulsify.
This had just been our store policy as blended drinks outside of frapps aren't starbuck standard drinks so leaves it up to the SM/Shifts to determine how they want baristas to ring it up

I actually tried something like that once. I make it my mission to taste all the Frappuccino abominations that people come up with. Someone got a vanilla bean with strawberry purée and extra caramel drizzle, so I put a bit of the leftovers from the blender in a sample cup and put a little drizz on it. It actually wasn't too bad. I love our caramel, but I'm not a fan of any of the fruity stuff. The flavors went together much better than I expected.
I'd never order it; a taste was enough. But it wasn't as wretched as I expected.

Add double scoops of mango and strawberry.
Ask for this to be double blended, making it a Frappuccino.
Ask for a caramel drizzle.
That is literally 4 juices for one drink with 4 scoops of berries and double blended. That’s called extra as fuck.

Yes I read the recipe. I agree that it's extra, but it's a drink. You act like in any other Frappuccino there aren't a ridiculous amount of steps we already have to do, what's the difference when it's just different juices and scoops of fruit VS pumps of syrup, milk, scoops of VB powder or chips, and toppings?

Help out a green bean - strawberry açaí to the appropriate line, lemonade to the appropriate line, but then where do the apple juice and strawberry purée go to? Scoops of mango? Like dried mango? Who has that? Not us. So then after I figure out how much apple juice and purée to add and deal with the lack of mango to scoop, I add ice to the appropriate line. Then I head over to the blenders and add Creme base? Is that right? Then pour this mess in the blender, drizzle the cup while it blends. If anyone can’t see how things like this slow us down . . .

I’d probably pour in the purée first, maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the way up to the base line, and then base the rest of the way to the appropriate line (so less base than usual) and then apple juice to the juice line then lemonade to the top? And I’d use cream base, but probably would just use the appropriate ice scoop rather than filling the shaker with ice to the right line. That’s my approach to weird drinks like this, anyway. Don’t know if it’s 100% correct, but I doubt most customers would know what it’s supposed to taste like anyway 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

You don't add cream base unless it was ordered that way. It's not neutral, like water. It adds both flavors, calories and sugar to the drink, you cannot just throw it in there without them specifying first. Additionally, it costs money to add the base, you need to ring in as a blended lemonade if you do it that way.
