Tik tok secret menu drinks(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by TerraSonitus
So I'm a new barista and I've been having trouble putting everything into the POS. I had somebody ask for a lemonade with added refresher and inclusions. They got mad at the price because I just charged them for a refresher lemonade. I got praise from my shift for charging them correctly even though the customer made a stink about it for like 10 minutes
I'm begging you guys to stop playing games
CriticalSheep85 points2y ago
I have absolutely no qualms about calling these people out.
"Can I have two shots in an iced venti cup with cream to the top?"
"Sure, that's actually a latte just so you know!"
"uhh... I just want two shots in an iced venti cup with cream to the top"
"Yup! I'll just make this a double iced venti breve latte."
"That price is a lot more than it usually is..."
"Welp what you ordered was a latte, so we have to charge it that way."
"whatever..." and then drove away.
cringeqween135 points2y ago
People will seriously do anything to try to get a lower price
zoki_balboa4 points2y ago
Isn’t latte just with “regular” milk?
sp_c_g_d12 points2y ago
It’s still a latte with H&H. It’s just referred to as a Breve Latte. (Which is more expensive than a standard latte)
Emoly_theGreat1 points2y ago
Another one that really bothers me is when someone orders a latte with chia pumps. I was told you have to ring it up as a chia tea latte and add shots.
AvoFromCado68 points2y ago
That’s how I would have rang it up. Because at that point it’s not a lemonade it’s a refresher lemonade😅
NotMyElephants55 points2y ago
Nope its a refresher with lemonade. Thats what you pay for. Doesn't matter what the order its poured in. Its the same drink.
Alice_Arisuin34 points2y ago
Customers arent the one’s that made the menu. Im tired of them thinking we aren’t doing things right! Just the other day someone said they wanted more coconut milk in their drink and i rang it up as light ice, they said “NO MORE COCONUT MILK”....i swear-
WorthPrinciple70499 points2y ago
Lol! Yes! When they say light ice we are supposed to ask if they want extra base, water (or lemonade or coconut milk), or some of both, because we were running out of base not accounting for it in our inventory. So many people get upset and are like, “I just want light ice!” So you just want room in your cup? “No! Light. Ice!” Okay...and I just give them extra both. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Life_Hand_29084 points2y ago
as for the inventory part: when you ring them up for light ice, make sure to also press “add _ base” because then it’s accounted for in inventory and everyone wins (sort of). i think we had a training on this last summer.
WorthPrinciple70492 points2y ago
Yes, that’s what I’m talking about. We got coached on it a while ago due to inventory issues, but lots of people still don’t do it. 🤷🏻♀️

Somebody needs to bring TikTok down!
Today I said out loud, what would happen if Starbucks got rid of the VSC. All these people wouldn't know what to order! We had someone ask for a Venti Iced Coffee with 9 pumps of vanilla, ex sweet cream and VSCCF. (I feel like I left something out of that). I said they didn't want coffee, they just wanted sugar and cream.

I wish we would get rid of all things blended for a week. Just one week, not a day, to see how it would really impact business. I feel like Starbucks profits mostly off of VSSCF and frappuccinos now, and it would be interesting to see just how much. Especially in a store like mine where if you have 10 stickers, 8 out of those 10 will be either a) something with foam b) a frappuccino or c) an ungodly mix of both
Aliciarox111895 points2y ago
Not so much fraps by me, more but I want a refresher no water no inclusions double blended... no you want a $6 ICEE
jdestinyp3 points2y ago
I always joke with my manager when we get huge multi Frappuccino orders (our store is in a huge industrial area and literally right next to a main Amazon headquarters, so we get tons of 5 frap orders at 5am) that Frappuccino’s have been “discontinued”
[deleted]6 points2y ago
Would you like some coffee with your sugar?
AvoFromCado5 points2y ago
Don’t forget the massive amounts of caramel drizzle that’s in almost all of the Tik tok drinks
amolnar015424 points2y ago
also - can target baristas stop with the “secret menu frappuccino videos” like i get that y’all got more time but the rest of us don’t have time trying to make the “marvel frapp” and whatever other bs ppl try to order
Bubbaguppi-1 points2y ago
I work at a target Starbucks and let me tell you, I don't ever have time to do any such thing. Probably because-get this- I am alone for the main part of my shift. Idk where you figured it was only tarbucks baristas that do that.
YellowSphinx14 points2y ago
Yeah. Ordering it funny doesn’t change the drink or the price. I’ve had customers come at me before about how it’s only supposed to be x amount of dollars. To which I go into a long winded explanation of the menu and the add on prices and why it costs that much. I don’t negotiate with crazy people.
Bertrandjet6 points2y ago
I really don’t care about this corporation enough to be going back and forth with these customers. If there’s a button I’ll do it. Then I’ll put the real thing in the ask me.
If Starbucks really gave af, the system would correct itself. But also, it’s Starbucks’ fault for letting their customers get crazy. Until the lose money, they won’t change.
At my first Starbucks, we had a regular who ordered an espresso macchiato in a venti cup with extra foam to the top... I.e. and extra dry venti cappuccino. And this guy wasn’t any guy, he was a mayoral candidate (unsuccessful... wonder why?). So whenever someone tried to correct him, he’d throw a fit and not let it go.
So for me, I had a choice. Was I going to befriend the semi-influential regular, or was I gonna die on the “Starbucks needs 90 more cents” hill?
Don’t die in hills for Starbucks. They’ll never make it worth it.
I know I sound like some old crusty vet, but trust me, I’ve seen some things 😂😂

Just like it’s one base charge no matter how much syrup/refresher they get, its one base charge no matter how little they get. A few exceptions exist, like nondairy milk where we charge after 4? Ounces I think? But generally that’s the modifier rule, and people are gonna argue it every time unfortunately.
WorthPrinciple70495 points2y ago
Honestly, we ring that in as lemonade add base. I never thought about it any other way. It still charges for the base, but maybe it’s less than a refresher? I want to check now! That seems just too confusing for who’s making the drink, though. If I see a refresher on a sticker you’ll have to make a note about not shaking it or layering it or something each time. When I see a lemonade with stuff, I know exactly what they want. I also just add the word “top” in the ask me to be safe.
strexedoctopus5 points2y ago
I just do lemonade until the top line add ice and then like a bit of base to the top
D735483 points2y ago
Thats exactly what i do. Syrups, lemonade, ice, and a hint of base. The base stretches down to make a nice color and it looks like they are getting more than what they are actually getting.
WorthPrinciple70491 points2y ago
Same! I just never rang it up as a refresher before.

how do I know which drinks will want to make you guys scream and which won’t? I genuinely don’t care about the price so I wouldn’t be one of those but I do like to try new things. But have major social anxiety and freak out any time I think I’m causing my barista to do more work
4filth2 points2y ago
the ones that are guaranteed to not make us scream... are on our menu
acctgbaddie2 points2y ago
I just read a post the other day that said please don’t order another brown sugar shaken espresso and that’s on the menu
4filth2 points2y ago
are you trying to not upset EVERY single barista you might come across on the internet? that’s not worth your time
Adderkleet1 points2y ago
Things not on the menu in Starbucks Ireland: the selection of teas.
Me: "Do you have chai tea?" Barista: Sure! *(screen says CHAI LATT)* Me: "Uh... sorry, not a chai latte. Do you have chai tea?" *(a bit of back-and-forth later, a second staff member confirmed they don't have black tea w/ spices)* Me: "Okay, do you have green tea?" Barista: Sure! *(screen says GREEN MIN)* Me: "No. Not mint, please. Just green tea? Do you have that?"
AtTheBarMatt1 points2y ago
Just order what you want. Some baristas will complain no matter what.
P_2_P1 points2y ago
I’ve been using the using the add dairy button on the left side of the milk screen
