First day you can expect to be doing mostly online forms/paperwork/modules with your manager, and then if you have floor time they might stick you somewhere easy to start like warming or prepping. You may or may not be with your assigned trainer at this point, it could just be the manager or a solid barista/SSV.
Tips: honestly just be yourself and have fun! There’s not much that goes on during day 1. It will be mostly introductions and paperwork but you gotta start somewhere. Good luck and I hope you love it here!! ☺️

Thank you! Did you get you’re apron on the first day?

Yes! Apron, name tag, partner numbers, resource manuals, and all that good stuff.

Can be s bit overwhelming hopefully your trainer is good, don’t be afraid to ask questions and be a sponge soak up things other baristas tell you they have been there longer they typically know the ins and outs of the store and the customers.

Goodluck!

I literally had my first day like three weeks ago so I know the feeling haha. I PROMISE you you don’t need to be as psyched out or nervous as I presume you are. For my first few days it was obviously just training and so I worked with my trainer and learned where everything was in the store, the different parts of the store, where we keep extra cleaning supplies, straws, cups, lids, all that stuff. and then she just taught me how to make drinks for the rest of the week. my first actual day without her I was put on drive and it was difficult at first finding all the buttons and I got frazzled. However on the second and third day I became much more comfortable and proficient on the DTO screen. Luckily one of my coworkers was SO sweet and patient and reassured me that it was fine to be slower at first and ask the customer to repeat their order or give you a moment to enter it. another piece of great advice she gave me was that you should always focus on the person at the drive thru box over the person who has just pulled up to the window to pay. seems obvious but I kept trying to get the person’s payment before taking the next order and it didn’t work nearly as well. anyways, best of luck to you and there will be difficult days with rude customers but then the next day will be great. just keep it all in perspective.
