if everyone at your store is miserable, organize a work stoppage (self.starbucksbaristas)

corporate or a DM aint gonna fire an entire store when people line up in the drive thru even when the store is closed.

Call ethics and compliance if your SM and DM are turning a blind eye to literal crimes. File police reports if you have to, as well as incident reports. Record those crimes if you can, a paper trail and video evidence is helpful.

Starbucks has apparently fired people just for trying to unionize. I don't doubt that they actually would fire an entire store for walking out, especially in at-will state (where you can be fired at any time for any reason, so long as it is not discriminatory). I get it, it sucks. I've had abusive store managers, and I've had SMs turn a blind eye to assaults. But baristas are absolutely disposable employees, the most likely result of your suggestion is that everyone just gets replaced.

>ay be right that they’d just get replaced I can’t confidently say trying to talk it out will solve anything. Sometimes a strike is the only way. I mean it won’t hurt to try conversation and I recommend trying that first if they haven’t already. Your statement of “be an adult about the situation” was uncalled for and rude.

we are reporting literal crimes and no one is helping us.

Perhaps, but better to go down fighting for what you believe in and have a chance at making a change than to continue living a miserable life. I mean other than talking it out which will likely lead to no change what else is someone to do? I can’t think of a way to fight back without risk.

This attitude is why things will never get better. the managers are giving gift cards to the people throwing hot coffee and threatening!

At a certain point, that risk is worth taking because minimum wage in CA is not worth the level of threats and harassment. It simply is not.
