Hello everyone,

I am a 4 year partner and just had a baby in January. I am relocating to a Louisiana store from my current store in California. I know the pumping guidelines at my current store, but I don't know if those are the same everywhere. Has anyone pumped while working at a Lousiana store? Are the rules all the same? Are they required to create a private location to pump that isn't the restrooms? Thanks in advance for your help. I'm a little stressed (but also very excited) about returning to work in June especially at a new location. 😬😁

Federal law protects you here, CA has stronger protections for you than most other states, but rules regulating that you have a time and place to pump are mostly governed by the ADA which is federal law.

Make sure you communicate clearly about your needs to your new SM because many have never dealt with this before and just don't know what their legal obligations are. And it's ok to contact partner resources for help if they get it wrong.

I would suggest checking the partner hub to see if that's a company wide rule in the US (I'm a Canadian partner so things are different here), and if that doesn't work check to see if there is state legislature on the matter. If all else fails, and no one from Louisiana answers, you can always try contacting your new manager.
