should i look for another job or just increase my sbux hours ? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by imsofuck1ngpoor
planning on moving into a decently expensive city soon with the help of a guarantor. i’ve been looking to pick up a second job as a waiter at a vegan restaurant to occupy my time with making and saving up money this summer. the ideal would be working night shifts at the restaurant and day shifts at sbux.

what would y’all recommend ? perhaps there are some of you working two jobs who would like to share advice / experiences. thank you

I'm my personal experience of working both full time and part time at Starbucks, most part time employees love the job and most full time employees are always stressed tf out. My vote is get a second job that's significantly less stressful than Starbucks and overall you'll be a happier person. Just my opinion, you do you.

Get another job. Working full time at Starbucks takes all the fun and joy out of the job.

I have two jobs and i’m a full time student. one of my jobs is super laid back and starbucks is anything but. If the pay is similar, I’d try and find a more laid back job and let that job consume most of your availability and have starbucks be the second in priority. I wish I had done this but it’s still nice to get off starbs after a crazy shift and get a chance to decompress at my second, more laid back job. I find that at my second job if it’s slow I can find some time to do a little school work as well. Whatever works best for you!

what type of ‘laid back’ are we talking here? any recommendations perchance? the city i’m moving into is nyc so there are plenty of options

I cashier at a hardware store in the evenings. By laid back I mean they are very accommodating to my availability and it’s pretty low traffic and not super demanding. If i’m mentally and physically drained, going to this job doesn’t feel like it’s going to send me over the edge.
