I honestly just hate how our playlists allow for the illusion of choice; it plays what we choose for 2-3 songs then flips back to whatever “featured” playlist that want us to listen to. 😒

Breathing Underwater by Emeli Sandé. I love her, but MY GOD, I can’t deal with that song. I had to hear it several times a day when I was doing cafe before we opened it up again.

Luckily at my store my SM is pretty cool about the music and allows us to play our own music as long as it’s appropriate. I made up a playlist of appropriate music that’s not annoying and fun to listen to so shifts go by much better.

There’s this song by Nina Simone called “Turn Me On”, but for some reason it’s not the song that’s listed. Instead, it’s an 8 minute remix of the song with the same repeating guitar riff and drum beat and it sounds like you’re in a fever dream every time it comes on.

Literally the first song from Malala's playlist. Like I love Malala's story and admire her for everything she went through, but the transition is STARK when it goes from catchy 2020s pop music to that first song in the playlist.

a few years ago i used to open with a manager who understaffed morning crew and was consistently 15 minutes late and somehow conga by gloria estefan was always playing when i was peak pissed off. still cannot believe the cruelty of permanently ruining gloria estefan for a person. there is no justice.

How about I don't wanna be sad anymore
I actually liked this song before I heard it on the Playlist but it reminds of how sad I am at work and I don't like that 👎🏾

Okay so i work ata grocery store starbucks and the general playlist has tons of variety but still usually plays the same few song every 3 hours which can get slightly grading but usually isn't too bad. Two song i hate are this one poorly autotuned song. The lyrics that i always hear when it comes on are "get into my car, get into my life, you know just what I like" and the other song is of a guy jumping 3 octaves in the middle of the chorus to say "did you finally fall in love"

But the absolute worst has to be this taylor swift cover of last Christmas and Peppermint winter from owl city. It played every hour (some times 3 times every hour) and it's just such an awful cover from such a good song and pepper winter is just a bad song overall and felt like it was directly antagonizing me because how often it played when I got frustrated.

Am I the Same Girl. Not only is the original on the playlist in the morning but the no vox elevator version of it is on the evening list. I would hear it sometimes more than four times a day... 🥴🙄
