Old drinks to know anyway (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hi everyone! I know a decent amount of the older drinks by now but sometimes someone will still trip me up ordering something we used to offer and can still technically make, but I don’t know the recipe. Are there any you get asked to make often enough that it’s worth knowing/telling greener beans than myself about? Thanks everyone :)

Cinnamon almond milk macchiato. Caramel macchiato sub cinnamon dolce syrup, almond milk, and then dolce topping in addition to the caramel drizzle.
Get this one ordered once in a blue moon.

Edit: also cotton candy frapp. It's just a vanilla bean with raspberry.

i’ve also heard of a lemon bar frappe? i thought it was a secret menu thing but older baristas at my store are telling me it used to be on the menu. idk, that must have been before my time

Yes and the horchata frapp. I don't remember the recipe. Baristas who know this one are all like 189- so pretty old drink.

Horchata frap was just almond milk and cinnamon dolce. I’m a 23 and they released it about a year after I started working

Huh maybe it was just the timing of hiring people versus the senior partners. I've been at my store for almost 3 years and only the partners who've been with sbux for 6+ years knew it. So I assumed it was an older drink.

In Canada anyway the drink was only from a few years ago. Frapp roast, cinnamon dulce syrup, almond milk, whip and cinnamon dulce topping. I think that was about it.

The lemon bar frap was made with lemonade instead of milk and I think vanilla bean powder. It was refreshing.

Nah lemon bar was in 2014 when we did a six drink contest for secret menu frappes

Cotton candy, which was already a thing VBF +R
Caramel cocoa cluster CF +TN +M&CR
Cupcake/birthday cake VBF +H

I think the crunchberry frappe was one (old strawberry with toffee nut)
Caramel ribbon might have been in there
And lemon bar, which was made exactly like the old strawberry and cream sub lemonade, but got crunch topping from the caramel ribbon we had at the time

Anyone else remember blackberry syrup, or the caramel flan/tiramisu we had then? Those were the days

Americano Blanco: americano with white mocha.
Americano Nuevo: americano misto with hazelnut.

salted caramel mocha is a mocha with toffee nut, caramel drizzle and the salt topping (if you still have it).

a latte macchiato is an upside down latte made with whole milk.

I'm not exactly sure how it is made but the coconut caramel macchiato with white mocha and mocha drizzle in addition to the caramel sauce on top?

You’re probably thinking about the iced coconut mocha macchiato. Iced caramel macchiato made with coconutmilk, no vanilla sub white mocha and add a ring of mocha drizzle around the caramel crosshatch

only comes up every once in awhile but an iced cappuccino. basically a latte but only do milk to bottom line, then corresponding scoop of ice, then you top it off with the nonfat cold foam.

edit: also black and white mocha (tuxedo) don’t think it was ever a menu item but it’s just a mocha with white mocha added as well

BWM (Black&White Mocha) *was* a menu item! For New Year's a couple of years back, it was exactly as you said but it got chocolate curls on top for when PM wasn't on the menu boards anymore ^.^

Mocha macchiato, (or white mocha macchiato,) just white mocha for vanilla syrup and mocha drizzle for caramel drizzle, same build as a caramel macchiato.

Coconut Milk mocha macchiato. Caramel Macchiato, Sub mocha, coconut milk and mocha drizzle. Or upside down mocha with drizzle, no whip, and coconut milk.
