As a new barista I have had so much happen at my store in my first several months on the job. Two serious threats of danger from two different “regular” homeless folks, several smaller incidents of local homeless folks that are out of it making everyone on shift and customers feel uncomfortable. My heart hurts for the homeless folks that frequent our store and my community, but when they threaten our safety I have 0 tolerance. On top of that, many of the baristas that have worked at my store for years are unhappy with the management and frustrated with how things are handled, and I’m getting there too. To the point of a shift supervisor being close to quitting (after 10+ years with the company).
How do I survive this bullshit? Or do I just get out while I can?
