hi guys, so I kinda needed some advice from a third perspective. I am currently working as a part time starbucks barista and have been for the past few months as I am having holidays (waiting for sch to start) but am contemplating on quitting as I really dont think I am a good fit? I have not gotten my barista certification even though it has been a long while, and the job has been taking a toll on me physically, and on my already not so stable mental health. however, the baristas there are all super nice, and have been really patient with me and training me to their best of ability and I feel rlly guilty if I decide to quit now as they rlly have genuinely put in a lot of effort to train me? not rlly sure what to do,, any advice? (based in sg)

You have to do what’s best for you. If the job is not working out for you in the ways you’ve described here, it’s completely understandable to leave if you feel that’s what you need to do.

Maybe open up a dialog with your SM and go over your concerns with them, and be fully honest, letting them know that you’re seriously considering giving your notice for those reasons, etc. It’s entirely possible that the SM may be able to help in some way to make things better, and more feasible for you to continue working there. Or, if there’s nothing they can do to make things better, they’ll at least understand your perspective, etc.

This job is definitely not for everyone, so it’s entirely understandable.
