how many days are you allowed off work before you are fired?

define “off work.” are you calling out? requesting time off? no call/no showing? something else they would all be handled differently.
if you’re calling out a lot (probably varies manager to manager) they may want to have a chat with you about why you’re calling out so much so they can figure out a plan to help you. (provided you have a good manager).
requesting time off; i think in theory as much as you want, but it may be denied? idk how much you’re “allowed.” again, would vary manager to manager and the needs of your store.
no call/no show is pretty straightforward; unless you have a good reason that’s likely to earn you disciplinary action pretty quick.

To elaborate on requesting time off (for US partners anyway), if you need to request extended time off for family/medical/personal reasons, you should be calling Partner Resources/Sedgwick. If you’ve been employed for at least 3 months (or maybe 6, can’t remember) you’re eligible to be approved up to 26 weeks for an LOA. I don’t think enough people take advantage of this benefit.

Umm i took about 2months off without being fired. In the end, i felt really bad for calling off so much but also knew they wouldn’t do anything about it... it depends on your store & manger tbh.

i guess i just feel bad for the time i take off then. i started the job back in november and when i was hired i told my manger i would have to take 2 weeks off in december because of family trip and then because of corona i had to quarantine for 10 days so i was gone for practically a month. then in february my dad got corona and i had to stay home again for 2 weeks. and then now it’s april and i went on a trip for a week for a wedding, but i ended up getting really really bad food poisoning 4 days before my trip ended and now i am just now starting to get past this illnesses and i had to get two of my shifts covered and now i feel really really bad that i might have to call in tomorrow’s shift too because of it :( i’m scared of losing my job because it’s fueling my future but i am feel so stuck. also my long distance bf’s bday is next month and i would feel terrible if i missed his birthday 😭

but i am one of the best and hardest workers at my job and i always take shifts for people and stay late and stuff and do my best to go above and beyond for them so i hope it helps me in these times:/
