Quitting anxiety/cold feet (self.starbucksbaristas)

I think my time at Starbucks is about to come to an end. I have one job offer from another local coffee shop, and I have an interview with a second. I'm nervous because I'd like to have the option of coming back, but I'm afraid that I'm going to accidentally say something wrong because I definitely have some negative feelings aboout the company and my store in particular. However, no other coffee shop will have as elaborate of benefits as Starbucks does. What if I'm making a huge mistake?

what is making you want to leave? i loved my job before starbucks and i still think maybe i messed up sometimes. write a list of all the reasons you want to leave and keep it in your phone. i look at that list all the time and remember i made the right decision

this is actually smart. I made a pros and cons list with my therapist about the other job opportunities, but not about Starbucks itself. overall, my store just has a very toxic and disorganized environment. today was the first day that my shift was properly staffed in months, but we had a visiting shift because the one scheduled called in. it's just a mess and my manager blames everything on the shift suoervisors instead of taking accountability for issues that they themself has power over.

if that’s the case, I would say that the benefits being better is not worth the anxiety, stress, and unhappiness the job is causing you. You deserve to be treated well. I wish you the best of luck <3

thank you!! hoping to come back post-covid when things are (hopefully) sorted out. I love the good days, they're simply too rare for it to be worth staying.
