Okay not sure if this is happening to everyone, but what is the deal with having to declare your cash tips now ? It’s so complicated to do and you have to do it manually every week. I honestly don’t want tips anymore if it’s what I have to do.

There are 150,000,000 tax payers in the us less than 1,500 indictments a year on legal income. Long story short you are more likely to die driving to your local clerk of courts to pay your taxes than you are to be arrested for not declaring tips.

Tbh I don’t know how the irs works but declaring $10 a month is sus because you only need to declare tips if you earn a minimum of $20 a month to begin with.

We haven't been declaring them at my store. I asked SM about it, and he said our sign off sheet (we have a sheet we sign when we collect our tips with our names, partner numbers, tippable hours, and handwritten the amount of tips we got that week) was enough. Im gonna let that ride til I hear otherwise

Lol what? Signing that tip report only confirms that you picked them up and received the correct amount and that they weren’t stolen. It has nothing to do with you taxes. What is your SM on?

my sm put a piece of paper about it in our tip bags but hasn’t talked about it since so I don’t know heather to do this every week now since it’s been well over a month I have to report of

Lol I tried once and couldn't figure it out so I just haven't. We didn't have to before, hopefully they'll realize nobody is doing it and stop giving us more unnecessary stress.
