So I called out for my first time today. I woke up with a fever and am really not feeling good. Unfortunately, I’m supposed to cover a shift tmr, but I don’t think I’ll be better by tmr. What do I do? I barely have the energy to look for coverage. I feel really bad. My store is really understaffed so I’m not sure the best course of action. I’ll try to find coverage but it’s very doubtful as no one likes to cover at my store.

I was in this exact situation 2 days ago. I called out Tuesday and Wednesday. I know it feels bad to leave your store understaffed but you can’t pour from an empty cup. You can’t help that you’re sick, and you should take all the time you need to feel better. Remember it’s just coffee. Hope you feel better soon, friend :)

You’re not supposed to work within 24 hours of having a fever, so if you’re still feeling bad and are feverish, please call out. I know it’s super hard, but your health is so much more important than Starbucks. It’s also not your job to find coverage. It can be nice if you can, but don’t feel bad if you can’t. They’ll figure it out, I promise. I hope you feel better soon!

I'm pretty sure you SM will have you stay off and you should take that time. Since we're still doing covid and temp checks you cannot work the shift anyways.
