How does everyone feel about having the camera on in drive thru? (The one so customers can see you)
I personally hate it. When I’m on DTO, and I’m trying to keep the order queue organized while also taking new orders, maybe making a refresher or getting an ice water, I feel like I can’t do any of that with the camera on. It just feels rude. Not to mention they’re barely even seeing our eyes between the hats and the masks 🙃

The only time it comes on is if the customer was being rude over the speaker and our bubbly face popping on the screen usually will make them less uh. Rude.

We have a menu board that isn’t electronic. So we have no camera to turn on and I pray we never get one 😅

My store used it especially when our cafe was closed to up our customer connection score and interact with customers more. I don’t mind it that much bc I have a mask on and I don’t fixate on my face as much. Mostly though if we had the camera on our SM or ASM would make sure that DTO can stay dedicated to the order screen so that we’re not running around making and organizing drinks while trying to connect.

How does this work if you do both DTR and DTO? I imagine it would cause times to plummet, or for you to constantly move from the screen which wouldn’t do much for CC scores I’m sure. Unless you always have a planted DTO?

The only times we have to do DTR and DTO at the same time is if we’re understaffed or it’s near open/close and it’s not too busy. We usually have a planted DTR person and a mostly planted DTO person that also does shaken drinks. We don’t use the camera much anymore though since our cafe has opened back up. And in general we need to be really well staffed to use it.
