Why is the drink full one time and half empty on the next order? (i.redd.it)

Might be because it’s not a “latte” which seems to be what you’re going for?

I know for me I don’t usually fill Iced espressos all the way up because then it would just be an iced latte. So it might be a difference of opinion of whoever’s making it that day.

Well I mean, it should only be about half full... My best guess is how much ice the barista thinks is “light ice”. Generally they’d give a grande scoop if it’s in a venti cup. Also “extra” in regards to milk can be subjective.

because “light” ice is suggestive on how much same for a “splash” and “extra”. there isn’t a definite way to do that especially when each customer says the same thing but mean different amounts

“extra” “light” and “splash” are gonna mean different things to each barista. if you want it to be full every time order an iced latte.

Light ice and splash of milk are both things that don’t technically have a set measurement so it might be different from day to day. Either way, the cup should never be full, since you’re getting light ice

Honestly, it's because every barista has an opinion on these drinks. Some new partners don't understand that it isn't like a latte and will fill it up. Some older partners who possibly know better don't care, and some people like me actively leave room to discourage people who are trying to get more for less.

If you are wanting less milk, you can place the additional option of 'with room', which is usually what I suggest to people if they aren't looking for it to be filled to the top. If you are wanting it filled, I would ask that you ask for a latte, since these kinds of drinks hurt our labor when they're being used to sidestep the extra charge of a latte.
