Easy as hell, just an assessment of barista skills and whether they are able to make core beverages properly.

I’d like to reiterate: assessment, not test. As a trainer I do them a lot with new baristas, and I always give them the opportunity to remake the drinks as many times as needed, or any resource materials, as long as they do not directly ask “what do I do?” A barista who is signed off on the certification should be able to comfortably be alone.

I feel like I have already done all this lol. I guess I just didn’t have it on paper. It’s just been a year and now the new DM is asking to get it all done or the store will be shut down.

Wow, that’s rough. You definitely need those available at all times.

You can order them through the order sheet.
Time-wise, it depends on how well/badly trained your baristas are and whether you’re willing to do things the correct way or just fake it.

For 8 individuals, I’d say it would take you a week, given you aren’t poorly staffed.

You’d need to assess their skills, their recipe knowledge, their calibration skills, sequencing, if they know the playbook, and the other things in the book.

Sounds like your new DM is cracking down on the stores, so I’d personally suggest not cutting corners. But only you know your own situation.

Each person should of had a barista certification after their training and then stored in a safe location. I'm a lead of a licensed location and we have our DM coming in next month and that's what she will look for.
