I transferred from a cafe store to a drive and hated it so much it wasn’t about customer connections it was about drive times. Recently transferred back to another cafe store and love it so much interactions with co workers much better and our customer connection scores are 60-63

Cafe only Starbucks seem to be better at drink quality and customer interactions, rather than drive times and getting people through. Less stress IMO

I’ve only worked at a drive thru with cafe, but my thought would be cafe only would be less stressful. But even a drive thru only would have less stress because you don’t have people coming in staring you down on bar thinking they got the shortcut coming in.

Which one of these has a healthy work environment?
Do that one.

Cafes can be terrible. You can get terrible customers (I had a homeless lady set up on 2 tables and started clipping her toenails ON THE TABLE; I had to kick her out since I was the supervisor). Cafe stores have different challenges, mobile orders are insane and lines can get long. If given the choice (I’ve worked regular drive through and a cafe only) I’d want to work at a drive thru only store.

i hear that cafe stores also get less hours because at drive thrus, it requires more workers in the day. not sure if anyone else experienced this
