hello family of 8. please don’t come to starbucks for a full vegetarian dinner, dessert, and multiple frappuchinos 30 minutes till close.

this is starbucks.
a licensed store starbucks.
a tiny little kiosk inside of a grocery store
in which i am the only person working at the moment.

i was so close to finishing up a majority of my close
and this set me back so far in the process.
and even more people got in line while i was still working
on this single order
from a family of 8.

i am a broken woman.

I’m so sorry 😵

I literally just started this job a couple months ago 😭 this is my first job as well
jedijami 5 points 2y ago
That’s insane. I’m sorry it ends up being only you closing! I would say to apply at a corporate store ASAP lol. At least then there’s at LEAST 2 closers if not 3. :/

I’m considering. I’m currently a college student but attending remotely, I’ll be living on campus next semester. It’s looking like my mom is going to move to the city my college is in which would mean that I would have to leave my current job. If we do move, I might try to get a job at a corporate Starbucks or I’ll just work at another liscensed store but on campus.

The tricky part is I can’t drive and I don’t have a car so my options are really limited

Aw well I hope you get a better option soon. This job isn’t worth all that craziness :/

I turn my oven off an hour before close. Helps a lot
luckysilverdragon [OP] 1 points 2y ago
might just have to do that. I usually turn it off at 7:30 but the family came in at like 7:29

I'm at a target starnucks with piss poor scheduling. If I don't clear my pastry case early and turn off the oven, I'll never get to close
luckysilverdragon [OP] 2 points 2y ago
You’re smart. I usually keep cake pops, cookies, and brownies out until the time we close but clear out everything else at 7:30. I’ve just seen so many disgruntled parents with screaming children come in really late and ask for a dessert for their child.

Is it smart to reward bad behavior with sweets? No. Does it shut them up? Yes. LMAO

try working for a corporate store! there should always be 2-3 closers. and then a shift supervisor at the store so you don’t have to do all that alone. (also you get a TON of free shit)
