Has anyone had a good experience with using Lyra? I haven't looked into it too much yet. But plan on using it. Is it easily accessible? Do they have an app?

I used Lyra last year while we were quarantining.

I’ve had a few different therapists so far (in my life) and only one with Lyra. They’re very upfront with the fact that they are really looking to set realistic goals and achieve them. One of these goals being, you no longer need to speak to a Lyra therapist.

This is the first therapist I’ve ever been to whose end goal was that I STOP seeing them.

Prior therapy sessions with different therapists (not from Lyra) were for me personally, for my family, and for my sister and myself.

I tried couples counseling with Lyra. The person I got was super nice and I think she was great! We only saw her for a few months but she was very professional and apart from what I mentioned earlier, the level of care and consideration she provided was phenomenal.

I definitely recommend Lyra! Especially since it is offered for free. Therapy is mad expensive and this is such a gold nugget if you take advantage of it. Also don’t forget that you can definitely shop around for therapy. If you have one bad experience with a Lyra therapist then try setting an appointment with another one.

Good luck!

Hey there! I've been using it for like 1 week now. I had a coaching session (I chose to do self guidance coaching for myself, but you can also choose talk therapy and whatever), my coach/therapist is super nice. We assessed my needs etc. what I noticed is that the app doesn't really work since it's tied to Starbucks, so you have to do it on the Lyra website. I strongly recommend doing it -- even if you don't "suffer" from any mental problems / stress etc., I use it as preventative care to have tools at my side whenever I encounter a really stressful situation (e.g. peak hour)!

the therapist i found through lyra is incredible. the best therapist i’ve ever seen.

with that said, i’m an unconventional case - i’ve been dealing with mental illness/psychiatrists/therapists for a long time in my life and i can very vocally advocate for myself and breakdown the psychological reasons why something is bothering me/generally wrong/whatever.

my therapist through lyra is there to listen and help guide me through things but never offers dull platitudes or coping skills i already know about that only work sometimes. she’s a gem, and being able to do teletherapy is a huge help too. (depending on your area some therapists may offer this. you only really interact with lyra itself when looking for a therapist, after that everything is done with the therapist in whatever in person/online setting they use; i use zoom for my therapy for example)

but you’re running the same risk you are with seeking a therapist outside of lyra - the first one you find may not be a good fit. you may have to bop around to different ones to find one more, or in my case, less traditional to fit your needs.
i do highly recommend it, though.

No one ever replies to me, and it's very strange. I have reached out to a few people on there, ended up having to call the practitioners office.

I just started using Lyra. Had my second therapy session a couple of hours ago!!! I really like it so far! It asks questions when you join to find a therapist near you that is catered to your needs, which is always nice. If you're using it for therapy though, remember that finding a therapist right for you might take some time (or no time at all). Just because the first one you try isn't great, doesn't mean that there's not another one that can help you! Lyra will make it easier to find a good therapist that caters to your needs though imo!
