Scone = Wedding Dress? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by pinkindigo
A woman called to ask if we had blueberry scones. I said yes. She comes in 5 hours later after we ran out and equated us not having blueberry scones to someone “taking away their wedding dress on their wedding day.” What? I did not know the severity of not getting a blueberry scone.

Eating those is like biting into a fistful of sand 🤢
Haunting-Message-953 82 points 2y ago
I’ve always understood them to be a complimentary item to coffee. Either dipped or immediately following each bite with a sip of coffee.
GaggleGuy 38 points 2y ago
I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere.

Chlamydia?
Kimmikkokat 24 points 2y ago
I take mine home and leave them wrapped in the plastic in my fridge for a day or two and for some reason it makes them better. Idk.
real-3st 61 points 2y ago
That would be the condensation saturating your scone with moisture
twiIghtprincess 65 points 2y ago
idk y this comment is killing me. like, it’s factual but it’s so funny that the scone is just getting wet
star_pants 17 points 2y ago
lol damp scone
InezBlue 10 points 2y ago
If you put cream cheese on top it helps a bit.
Edit: spelling
mielmami 6 points 2y ago
wait are we talking about the hookup at this point or the scone?
snarkysnape 8 points 2y ago
Yes.
mielmami 1 points 2y ago
good
chr1styn 5 points 2y ago
They taste decent if you warm them up and drizzle honey all over them

I once had a woman come in asking for a new blueberry scone because she bought hers a couple days before and forgot to eat it. I told her no and she threw it at me...

What the hell is in these scones?
cryptorchild7 62 points 2y ago
Blueberries.

What the hell is in those peoples minds?
jupiter_bug 22 points 2y ago
Also blueberries
FfierceLaw 40 points 2y ago
That actually may be chargeable as Simple Battery, at the very least it should be reported to Sbux with her name on it so she has a record of disturbing the third place and battery on a partner. Anyone that reactive over a scone, it’s not a one-off
bitchmcconnelll 43 points 2y ago
Unfortunately it was 7 years ago and she was in the drive-thru so sped off right after. I was okay, too! I caught it 😎
FfierceLaw 5 points 2y ago
😆

It can be food or a weapon ... a drunk girls dream
LeatherTurnip1224 100 points 2y ago
It’s the coming in 5 hours later and expecting you to still have some for me 🤦‍♀️
Koalastars009 82 points 2y ago
When we’re out of something I usually tell them this other person just came in and bought all of them. People want a villain. So you have to fabricate one for them. I’ll usually throw in a “ I didn’t even get one either.” So yes, promptly throw this imaginary pastry fiend under the bus.
Acceptable_Leather99 39 points 2y ago
I do this with customers who I know are going to be an issue. “Oh Im sorry, someone just came by about five minutes ago and bought our last five southwest veggie wraps! I really wanted one today too, so I feel your disappointment. Can I maybe offer you something else? We can explore meatless options, if you want!”
iced_mocha7 10 points 2y ago
sometimes i get people who come in and actually buy all the pastries we have on hand
lilacsunflower2020 41 points 2y ago
Someone in dt asked me what a blueberry scone is. So I responded “a scone with blueberries” they then asked “what’s a scone?” So I said, “a pastry that is kinda dry in texture.” Then they said “oh I thought it was an ice cream.” At the window they were rude and caused issues and proceeded to shove a drink at me and say taste it and tell me it doesn’t have coffee after she tried it. The drink in fact had no coffee like they asked and we still remade it and it looked the same.
FuschiaFeather 16 points 2y ago
That sounds like a complete disaster omg
InsertAliasHere7589 3 points 2y ago
That's yucky.
FfierceLaw 28 points 2y ago
I’ve had 3 people in the last couple days act the same way about almond croissants . This is so weird to me
DreyaNova 48 points 2y ago
The almond croissants are a different story though... I will kill for those things.
FfierceLaw 13 points 2y ago
Good to know, we usually only have 3 or 4 in stock and I had thought them not worth the calories or the mark out
kqs13 11 points 2y ago
They are so so delicious, and they have an amazing filling!!! My favorite pastry to mark out! We pull a whole case every day and all the partners mark them out at my store, haha.
Disney1960 6 points 2y ago
Seriously! They are so good 😊
IthacanPenny 3 points 2y ago
The coconut lime iced bar is AMAZING. And the cranberry dream thing around the holidays(sorry, I’m not a barista, just an enthusiast). Those are the products that make me want to go full Karen. I don’t, because I’m not a sociopath, but having my heart set on one of those bars then not being able to get it has definitely made my day turn sour more than once lol
olivinemultichrome 3 points 2y ago
My store doesn’t get the almond croissants and at least twice a day I get people asking “well how am I supposed to have coffee without an almond croissant?” Like what the hell is in these things and why do they make people cray
FruitPoopLoops 16 points 2y ago
Could have drove to the next nearest starbucks if she thinks a blueberry scone is that big of a deal
lea-oppalove 12 points 2y ago
I disappointed a customer when I told her we ran out of blueberry muffins. She was so distraught over it I started to wonder if she had a craving for them or had promised someone one. I *almost* felt bad.
kennytano 11 points 2y ago
A woman was EXTREMELY mad as us about all of our outages. Strawberry açaí, caramel, and oat milk and said we were depriving a cancer patient of happiness. My shift had no idea what to say.
doodlebug72898 3 points 2y ago
Look lady, I'm sorry you have cancer, and I'm sorry I'm out of the only three things on our menu you enjoy, but neither of these things is something that I have any control over...
Tytanka 10 points 2y ago
This lady cussed us out for not having Ham and Cheese croissants.
rollerderbydyke 8 points 2y ago
Pregnancy cravings?
jupiter_bug 4 points 2y ago
From my point of view neither are very important 🤷‍♀️
whycantibeamermaid 3 points 2y ago
We discontinued all the scones in our area at the end of last year.

But I will never forget bringing one home, and grabbing it out of my fridge in the middle of the night while stoned and almost choking to death on its dusty ass.
pinkindigo [OP] 1 points 2y ago
omg 😂😂 relatable
megs1288 3 points 2y ago
Yeah the scones are trash..give her a blueberry muffin
sizzlethizzle 3 points 2y ago
Wait i thought they were discontinued
kqs13 10 points 2y ago
Nope, but I sure do miss the strawberry yogurt scone...those were way better, wish they kept those and discontinued blueberry
sizzlethizzle 2 points 2y ago
Wait but I work at a store in Texas and we have none of the scones
kqs13 1 points 2y ago
We have both at my store currently so idk!!! It might just be from the spot outages that have been happening recently
InsertAliasHere7589 1 points 2y ago
It's just different regions carrying different products

LMAO
chellichelli -4 points 2y ago
Why not set them aside earlier in the day, OR, why not sell her frozen ones? She probably wasn’t gonna immediately consume all 5, and then the customer would be happy. I mean, she was for sure bananas, but there’s an easy way to get to a positive interaction here.
Flappadingo 5 points 2y ago
She didn’t want 5. She back 5 hours later.

And if you set it out for 405 hours it will be grosser than usual. Hard. Yuck
