i’m on day 11 without a day off, and my next day off is wedsnesday, which i only have off bc i have an exam all morning. it is miserably hot & humid in my store and i am a horrible sweat monster. my store is hot mess express but we just keep going.

currently crying in the tub with some thin mints. just finished a 60 hour work week and i’m going straight into another. going on 21 days without a day off. i’m so tired

I am off today. I was called to cover a shift today but I simply needed today to rest and do laundry, that was...until my dog projectile vomited all over my floor and when we went out to potty there was blood in his stool. I need to go do laundry, but this had me shook.

Had to call the vet to schedule an appointment for him Monday at 8am because they don’t have capacity for him today or tomorrow. He’s eating and drinking water and acting pretty normal (which is positive) and I have to monitor his symptoms until Monday...which is my OTHER off day. 😑

I can last one more day without doing laundry, I guess, but the transfer stuff plus PRSC stuff plus all the training this week and now my dogs butt stuff has me completely drained.

I want to go to bed and rest so I am caught up for tomorrow in regards to my energy levels. I am simply zapped.

Not a Starbucks rant about work. Just tired and my dogs butt has me worried.

I wasn't supposed to work today but i had a partner ask me to take her shift and i can use the hours. Had one person call out like 5 minutes before she was supposed to be there, everyone wanted butter croissants, last night's shift opened every box of lids and labeled half of them wrong, we still have no carmel drizzle, stir sticks, toffeenut, or grande/venti flat lids and only got about 10$ in tips in the 8 hours I was there. But I met a dog named Eyeball.

This dude came in at 5am at my drive thru store during a 2 person play (because the third person is known for slacking off so she was in the back chilling with the shift 🙄). It was super busy so I was doing dt drinks as well as the mobiles that would not stop coming.

Anywho, the dude asked why the oatmilk wasn't available on mobile. I told him we're having a company wide shortage.

He yelled "XYZ COUNTY HAS IT THOUGH!!!"

And all I can do was yell "SIR, THIS IS ABC COUNTY." back at him and he left lmao

People are fucking wild for oatmilk, man.

Two people quit on spot and one got fired for whatever reason. Everyone who closed today opens tomorrow! Every other customer refused to wear a mask and every drink I made was a frappuccino :')

Also to those partners here who said they were working 60hrs+ or 21days+ with no day off I wish you all the best! Please try to get some rest and stay hydrated<3 I'm sure you're all doing an AMAZING job!

didn't work today but i have a gear to grind if that's okay. a partner at my store is currently getting on my last nerve. every single shift i have worked with her in the last month she has spent the entire night complaining to me about our manager and our customers and everything under the sun. i understand her frustration with the SM over scheduling her and ignoring her availability, but she's not the only person with problems. we're understaffed so we're all overworked and exhausted and no one wants to come to work anymore.

i can't run my shifts efficiently because this girl spends all her down time chatting away and distracting my other baristas instead of doing cleaning tasks to help us catch up. i'm not great at confrontation but genuinely i'm reaching my limit with this girl. i don't have the capacity for her complaining to me one more day, and now she's started openly questioning my decisions as shift (she's a barista who's only worked here for 4 months, i'm a ssv and my 2 year anniversary is next month.)

A homeless man came in at 6 am, screamed racial slurs at our till stationed barista, then fucked off into the bathroom and pissed all over the walls, did drugs took off his pants and threw the trash in there all over the floor. He came back out, and requested the same barista (who was now on break) and had to be escorted out by security. After that we discovered the bathroom

I wasnt there until later that day, but u accidentally went into that bathroom before my shift and saw the pants and the trash

Customers walking in in droves because we had turned off mobile ordering (we had 2 call off) and the dt line was long. I was on front/warming, at one point the line in front of me stretched to the door but I felt like I was holding my own. I took a call and silly woman called because she couldn’t mobile order, wanted me to take her order over the phone 😆. Suddenly there was a break in the customers, I didn’t realize that SSV had closed the cafe. So with a closed cafe and no mobiles we all focused on speeding up dt. It was great, actually. We also got a massive delivery that included *lemonade*!😃So many customers were upset that we were out of it for so long. So it wasn’t terrible because we have good leadership. I’m looking forward to tomorrow.

Was fine until 8am....... then 20+ people constantly in cafe and a dt line that just kept growing in the streets. Hands down was the most busy Saturday I’ve ever worked, and we kept mobile orders on😭

I opened today and was getting read to leave at 2:30. 2:45 rolls around, (stayed because it was hella busy for us) and as I get ready to leave a high school athletic team comes in. 13 drinks, 7 food items and roughly 30 minutes later then the time I was supposed to be out. I had enough and left. It took a couple hours after I got home to process the last 30 minutes of my shift

Lots of people not wearing masks today. I didn’t even care to sound nice about it after a certain point. 3 people had to call out due to being sick so obviously we had a great floor today

We ran out of all refreshers, no coconut milk no VB powder for the VB frap, no venti straws, should I go on? 🙃

I have never worked a shift where that many people came in. Granted I’ve been here for a little under 4 months but Jesus Christ it wouldn’t stop

For a Saturday, it was actually pretty chill. But also it was my first day of my period, so I was a lil more bothered by everything than normal. OK BUT ALSO I BOUGHT A SHIRT FROM A SUPER LIMITED DROP THAT I’VE MISSED FOR THE LAST 6 DROPS. So that was def the highlight of my shift

Legit on May 1st my store apparently hit a record of how many customers served between 9 and 10 in the morning and apparently it's a record since the store opened ??? Like ok, great, but why the fuck did we still have only 2 closers and a shift that night- why the fuck is that allowed, that fucking close was hell, and they expect us to do a good job on everything with 2 ppl and then a shift who can barely help us close the store anyway bc they're doing shift things. Literally impossible- they praise us for serving that many customers but then go and continue to schedule less people when we need it the most. So fucking tired of the rushes of 10+ people in the drive thru ordering 5 or more frappuccinos with only a DTO/DTR/Warming person and a bar person-- not to mention if someone walks into the fucking lobby, we gotta take care of them too and the DTO/DTR/Warming barista turns into a DTO/DTR/DTB/Warming person for fucks sake.

Also, on top of that, we've been out of

- oatmilk
- whole milk
- dragonfruit inclusions
- caramel drizzle

Not to mention my district has been cutting hours for the part timers. My SM told us we could come in even if we're not scheduled though, so i was scheduled 26 hours last week and clocked in for 43 because i need the money, ahaha. At least overtime is approved in my district right now....

I was in the process of moving for a solid 15 hours Friday. Didn’t get to shower and go to bed until 3:30-ish am, only to be at work at 7. I live further away now so that means I got even less sleep. We had 3 call offs Saturday, it was absolutely fucking PACKED inside with no less than 5 drinks per mobile order and 6 per cafe/dt. Customers asking for the summer launch drink, and getting pissy because I won’t risk my job like TikTok baristas seem to have no problem doing. I was forced to train someone (it was her first day, zero prior training. I was handed papers and a tablet and told to teach her. I’m not a barista trainer. I barely know what the hell I’m doing like??). The DM refused to turn off mobiles until 4pm (which was still busy but had significantly slowed down). We had no CS the entire day. I get put on CS after my lunch break that was 2 1/2 hours late, with no tens, and expected to have EVERYTHING restocked, prepped, cleaned, etc within 30 minutes. I don’t care how fast you are on CS stuff, you can’t make 14 whips, 6 sweet creams, 6 lemonades, chai backups, mocha backups, get ice x38373828383828, do a whole days worth of dishes, and help on front/cold bar 🙄
