Any tips to perfect my flat white? (i.redd.it)

Be sure to groom the milk once you’ve finished steaming it. Tapping the pitcher on the counter a few times to burst bubbles and swirling the milk can do wonders for the pour and quality of this drink.

Also, I pull my shots into the cup on an angle so that the stream hits the side of the cup and slides down. That reduces the bubbles created by the espresso.

Lastly a slow controlled pour.

Your attempt is super close, but it isn’t just the dot in the middle that makes it a flat white. Having a smooth, even “flat” surface is key.

nobody ever told me about pouring shots at an angle when i was taught how to make flat whites! my milk almost always comes out perfect, but the espresso bubbles ruin everything. i hit my cup one day on accident and it caused the shots to hit the side as they pulled, and i was mind blown. i’ve passed that tip on to every new barista we get

Sure. Just write “Order black coffee” so the customer knows to make our lives easier next time lol.

Good job, it’s *on the dot* mate.
