I had a few minutes before class so I decided to go to the drive thru. The baristas were super busy and I was waiting at the window while they were making the caramel frappe
I was kind of eavesdropping on their conversation and one of the girls quietly said “I watched ratatouille last night and that’s the only thing that makes me feel anything anymore after people keep ordering tiktok drinks”
For some reason, this put the biggest grin on my face and I instantly put $5 in the tip jar and said “I hope you know that you’re getting tipped for bringing up ratatouille”
They were really grateful and said “you know, sometimes I forget the customers can hear our dumb conversations”
I responded with “it’s not dumb if you’re talking about quality content”
This tiny interaction made my day. Hang in there guys. There’s a bunch of us that know you’re human. Thank you for tiny smiles

You sound great... also this scares me, I've always assumed customers cant hear me when I step away from the window because I cant hear them 😬

I really needed to hear this today, I'm on break in my car and its been rough. Thank you for being understanding and patient, and for definitely brightening your baristas day. I may not be your barista but I appreciate you!
