Are they giving Partners the option to transfer to a different store?
Itsyaboiblue [OP] 75 points 2y ago
Yeah, everyone who wants to stay with Starbucks is getting sent to other stores in the area, but five of our partners have worked here for 6+ years and don’t want to work anywhere else. The majority of the partners are following our SM because she’s great.

Do you think that most closings are cafe only stores? Is the company favoring dt over cafe stores in the US and Canada?

From what I've seen, unless you're like a mall store, if you don't have dto then you're gonna be closed asap. Mall stores and mid-city stores will be the only non drive stores left pretty soon
FfierceLaw 12 points 2y ago
I think you’re right, yet partners on Reddit keep advising others to transfer to a cafe store for a more pleasant experience. Going to have to move to a more urban area for that

I do think they like the additional $ they get when customers can drive through, order or pick up their mobile orders in drive through and they’re thinking how they can have more of that. They could tear down, rebuild, remodel, whatever it takes. But they probably won’t leave a market with strong demand

They probably won’t close cafe only stores in densely populated areas or big cities. I live in New York and not everyone has a car here. 90% of stores in New York City alone are non drive thru, cafe only stores. It probably just depends on numbers really.

They closed all the local mall stores where I am
Flappadingo 12 points 2y ago
closings are cafe stores in my district ... only one left in my town

SB is going DT only for the future and MOP only

Yes when I saw a few months ago Sbux was closing over 300 stores in Canada I wondered if they were culling cafe stores in particular
daisesfordays 6 points 2y ago
They’ve closed all of our cafe stores in my district. We had a mallbux but they got closed too. :( I started in a cafe only store and it really was a nice experience.

A lot of cafe stores in my city closed down. I was lucky and got hired at one of the few stores that was still doing fairly well. It's right by a major hospital and is the sole reason why we stayed open. I moved to a different store w a drive thru and business is so much different. It's insanely busy.

I recently had to quit back in early April. So I’m out of the loop, why are cafes closing? 😭😭
Itsyaboiblue [OP] 1 points 2y ago
They just can’t generate the same revenue as drive thrus, especially during a pandemic
RedVelvet292 1 points 2y ago
My store was a cafe and drive thru. We did really good in the cafe too 😭
dodofishman 1 points 2y ago
We're cafe only but haven't heard anything about being closed. We do have the highest CC score. Fingers crossed :(

my store used to be my area’s only cafe only store but they built a drive thru store and moved the cafe only store there, i heard all the original staff from the cafe only location quit 🥴
