Clean play while 7 months pregnant (self.starbucksbaristas)

I just looked into my schedule for next week and I have a 3am-7am which is clean play... like why.. i’ve done the clean play before during my first couple months on my pregnancy, but now I feel like it’s harder for me to move faster and to bend down to clean things now with a belly. I get pain in my stomach if I move too fast or i’m doing too much... I would’ve thought my SM wouldn’t schedule me for a clean play until after I come back from maternity leave.. I hateeee using the pregnancy card trust me I try to do everything at my job, but I know me doing the clean play coming up is going to kick my ass :( should I talk to my SM about this or am I being a baby about it.?

Talk to your SM! There’s no reason to feel bad about it. You’re pregnant! It’s just a fact!

Your concern is valid. As your uterus expands and gets heavier, ligaments are stretched and it throws off your balance, coordination. Your back is strained. You need your sleep in bed.

What time does your store open? If clean play goes til 7am aren't you guys still cleaning during business hours? Ours is after close til midnight. But yeah I'd talk to your manager surely someone else can do it

our store is a 24hour store and the cafe opens at 6am so yes it would be open while we are still doing the clean play.. i’m going to see if I can switch with someone...

I’m 8 months pregnant and I totally get it
Talk to your SM, and maybe ask around and see if anyone can swap shifts with you. At the very least, your SM should be able to look at the clean play tasks with you and come up with a plan of how you can be helpful without hurting yourself

thank you i’m definitely going to see if I can switch with someone which i’m sure I can find someone to switch with me if not i’m definitely going to have a talk with him about how I can do the clean play. I just don’t want to get in trouble for not doing that great of a job of cleaning.

Well here is my take, unpopular though it may be. Your health concerns are valid but seeing as you didn't suddenly become 7 months pregnant overnight it was on you to let your manager know in advance that you feel like doing the clean play is to much physically at this point. In all fairness what tasks specifically do you feel like you are unable to do on the clean play that fall outside your regular routine during your shift?
