Grande Rant - Managers (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by of_pen_and_pencil
Store managers are absolute troopers, don’t get me wrong, but they’re also supposed to be there for their partners. Today I found out my manager was going on a second sabbatical in the last 4 months, without actually telling the store as a whole. She just decided to up and leave. I get it, mental health is important, but your baristas need to know who to talk to about store stuff and just in general.

On top of that, our new manager is an outside hire, meaning we’ve got a manager coming in to one of the most chaotic stores in the district, with 300XXX numbers. He came in and immediately started critiquing my SSV today, before he’s even worked a minute on the floor of a Starbucks! How are we supposed to fix our store if we’ve had 5 different managers over the course of the year?!

But, as always, remember: Keep those drive times down and customer connections up 😐

I get enforcing policy but annoying the only people keeping your store together is a pretty bad first impression.

That’s what kills me, he doesn’t know policy. He tried to hop on coverage and took 20 minutes to incorrectly make a vanilla bean. It’s crazy
