Cold Bar Layout/Mechanics (self.starbucksbaristas)

I’ve been working at starbucks for maybe like 6-7 months at this point and just transferred to a new store where all cold brew gets half pumps and it’s really confusing bc i use the POS system to make sure im making drinks correctly. Yet VSCCB gets 2 hot bar vanilla pumps yet the SCCFCB get 4 caramel half pumps? huh????? how does this make sense and why is it like that in the system.

who i gotta talk to about consistency

Honestly I wish Starbucks would just do away with cold/half pumps altogether. Just standardize goddamnit.

Any "signature cold brew"( cold brew with a confusing and long name) comes with half pumps (3,4,6,7) and if your store doesn't have a half pump for the syruos you use for those... caramel, vanilla, Irish cream, or the honey blend you use half the amount of full pumps(1,2,3,4) ... and if someone just orders a cold brew customized it always gets the standard qty. Of full pumps (3,4,6,7)....

I don’t understand how so many baristas get this confused. Let’s remember our syrup pump rules: 2,3,4,5, venti iced 6. If it’s cold brew it’s half the pumps.. so a grande VSCCB would get 2 hot bar or full dose pumps of vanilla OR 4 cold bar or half dose pumps. It’s just doubled lol

Right, but it’s confusing (especially as a green bean) when the POS/mobile app lists 3/4/6/7 pumps of caramel syrup in a SCCFCB, but 1/2/3/4 pumps of vanilla in the VSCCB with no indication that the pumps are different

It is confusing but it has its reason. The only cold drink (off the top of my head) that gets vanilla is the VSCCB, so having a bottle with a half pump of vanilla isn’t practical. There are multiple drinks that get caramel, the SCCFCB and the caramel frap get caramel syrup, so it makes more sense to have a cold bar caramel syrup.

yeah this was the problem i was having too but when you put it like that it makes more sense that they would do it like that yet no one has explained it like you. just wasn’t clickin in my brain
