My store could NEVER we try so fucking hard and what do we get? 1:21

We’ve been struggling for a long time with our times! Like we’ve had other SMs and our DM come in and be like “listen. Here’s what you’re doing wrong” Lol six months ago we could NEVER. I feel like a proud mother 😂

Want to know a shitty secret? If you’re in a store with persistent high drive times, and they’ve (aka, the DM has investigated) ruled out staffing performance issues, more money is allocated (siphoned off a lower volume store's budget) to create higher play staff stationing via the 'play book' (read: hire more green beans) and assess needed equipment/store improvements. (Your ice bin lid is wonky? All of a sudden, it's finally a priority)

Edit to add: I've worked in 'store relations' as a 'shift supervisor' that stores would 'borrow' to improve drive times on and off since 2006 - and had some weird roles. Baby Sbux had some weird, weird ways of getting intel on stores aside from reports and play books, and old timers like myself will often keep orders up on the screen because they want to become a priority. It's underhanded, which is why they send in people who are 'training' for a management role at another location.

This exact scenario is happening at my store right now. An ASM who is getting trained to take over another store has been training at our store this week to shadow us. Also random stuff that has been broken for years is suddenly getting fixed. I knew something was up.
deathxbyxsnusnu 1 points 2y ago
Training ASMs at busy locations is a pretty commonplace thing, I'll admit - and that's done at the DM's discretion. However, they are probably taking note of things that could use some TLC and using that influence when reporting to the SM and DM to help out the store. As much as I dislike the times when I've had to be a mole (and am so glad that career is in my past) I always tried to get something fixed or improve something affecting morale.

Yo that’s crazy we just got a 29, 38 yesterday
Boomdoke 10 points 2y ago
First of all we are not short staffed
JMarBrwn 20 points 2y ago
Days like that are dope. It feels so good to be running a 28-32. A lot of partners/managers don’t realize that drive times are like 70% our speed, 30% customer reliability. No orders at the window, no weird stuff with payments, no 8+ drink orders and no 12+ item mobile orders. A few weird things per peak is manageable but some days the customers just can’t get their shit together and we can’t do anything about it, no matter how fast we are.

It’s an endless battle at my store, but when everything goes smoothly it’s like a well-oiled machine lol
Boomdoke 2 points 2y ago
I made a post including the orders if anyone was curious
Sarahthelizard 7 points 2y ago
29? Jeez, our DM would call us and be like "are you even connecting with your customers?"
xEman26x 24 points 2y ago
Yea connecting that cup of coffee into their hand
Sarahthelizard 8 points 2y ago
Lol "hi-bye"
Boomdoke 7 points 2y ago

readingbarista 11 points 2y ago
I wanna know the numbers of customers and average ticket (shift who looks at all the numbers)
Sarahthelizard 13 points 2y ago
456 orders of one tall pike.
BaristazGonnaBarist 5 points 2y ago
Wow!! Awesome!! 👏👏👏
bekahw006 4 points 2y ago
one day we had a 28. it was absolutely insane. there were 4 of us (2 people called out) just as morning rush was coming along. it was our manager and our 3 strongest partners. manager on drive thru bar, one person on front bar, one person doing dto and bar 3, and the other person on food/cs. i’ll never forget it
xalaskarose 4 points 2y ago
let me take a moment to soak it all in, because my store will never see that number 😂
lilappabean 3 points 2y ago
what do all those squares mean ?
Ok-Responsibility735 3 points 2y ago
The bottom right one is the current car's time, the top right is your average car's time and I can't think of the other 2.
unmagnificentmeg 2 points 2y ago
There’s average time spent at the window (top right), average time spent at speaker, number of cars in the past half hour, and the percentage of cars that have made it through the drive thru in your goal time (bottom right)
XxTRUEPINOYxX 1 points 2y ago
I love window at peak, I can always get 2-3 facts out of a customer and get them on their way in about 30-40 seconds depending on how fast bar can make it lol.
itsangel_bro 1 points 2y ago
Nice! The lowest we ever got was 32 sec. I don’t even know how that happened, usually my store is around 40-47.
b0rrowers 1 points 2y ago
dt average got up to 18 minutes once when I was soloing on a busy mid Saturday 😐😑😑
