yes, i’m 6’2 so i’m constantly craning my neck down and basically folding in half to get things out of fridges and i have scoliosis 😭
SkarekrowXIII3 points2y ago
I'm right there with you, except I'm an even 6. Are you the designated tall person at your store?
ShaggysCumrag2 points2y ago
i was at my last store but i recently transferred & there’s maybe 1-2 other people around 6’

Be really careful to keep your back straight and use your legs to lower yourself and lift heavy things instead of bending over and putting strain on your back. I may have carpal tunnel and tennis elbow from bar but not back pain

My side usually hurts because I’m a lot shorter and have to stretch and twist so much

This is soo true! I can’t reach the top set of lids without being on my tiptoes. when I’m in dt window I get sooooo many bruises from leaning out the window. I’m 5’3.

I’m 5’3 too and struggle so much 😭

No but my hands have been ACHING lately
LatterRooster2 points2y ago
My hands ache especially when I’m in the same position for my whole shift—or as my shifts call it “my home”

Im pregnant and a green bean so I don’t even know what’s pregnancy vs my body just getting used to the job 😭 I’ll wake up the day after my shift tho in the middle of the night and my hands just feel so swollen and achy!! My elbow and shoulder too
LatterRooster2 points2y ago
It’s called carpel tunnel 😅🙋♀️🤦. The training indicates that they are supposed to move you around during your shift because of these physical demands. They don’t most days... occasionally I’ll get a shift that actually cares and does things by the book. I’ve been on window for 6 days in a row... 5.5 hours each day. After day two I typically try to slow Down and pick things up differently and use my less dominant hand.

My shifts would totally move me more if i asked, but i can’t reach out the window anymore and I hurt more in positions where I’m standing in one place
They’ll switch me to warming or I’ll do dishes for a while, but my hands still hurt from tongs/scrubbing 😂

My lower back hurts constantly because I'm so short. I have to learn over the counters on my tiptoes to reach the kids and such. Constant leaning puts strain on my back and by the time I get home I can barely walk.

Oh my GOD I thought I was alone on this. I swear barring is the reason my posture is garbage
