what do you expect? there's, ugh, *upper management* on that one. you know, the kind that have never worked a day behind bar.

That's not at all what happens and I'm so tired of people lying for the sake of a little clout/drama LOL

People been mad feisty lately and that post was locked because people couldn't stop arguing with a couple trolls. The post was locked, but remains up because it's a valid conversation

Not only do posts about unionising stay up, but I frequently participate in them. I also spoke with the OP of that post and explained why it was locked briefly, then unlocked it after the trolls had been cleaned up.

Like what??

Oh cool yeah totally, I am a liar looking for clout. Thanks m8.

Threads get locked all the time when they start to gain traction. This one ended up getting too much traction to stay locked without getting undue attention.

Comments about unionizing end up getting removed because they are branded as "arguing" with trolls. Your experience may vary.

I didn't say you were a *liar*, I'm generalising because I see this kind of post semi-frequently. It's usually coming from someone who is bitter about something, or someone who thinks they're starting drama.

Threads get locked when they're getting too much *negative* attention; it has nothing to do with what the OP is about unless the OP is hostile or contains personal information. For reference's sake, the team previously has agreed that arguments become hostile when they involve name-calling or ad hominems. Comments are considered antagonising when they are passive aggressive, condescending, or involve argumentative fallacies like whataboutism or personal attacks. And my experience doesn't vary, I'm the only active moderator on the front end of the main subreddit. I'm the one that does all of it.

I have no problem locking a thread regardless of how much traction it's getting. I locked it to clean up the two massive threads where people were being aggressive, and then OP messaged me about it, and I explained why then unlocked it. It was only ever locked for an hour, two hours at most.

And like I said, union posts stay up because they don't break rules. I have never actually removed an entire post for talking about unionising, or removed an entire comment thread for talking about unionising. Like I said, I $1 That one is from 2 weeks ago, btw. Was never locked, was never removed.

Just out of curiosity, what posts have you seen that have been perma-locked that were also about unionising? If you think it's an issue, I would like to know which posts you're talking about in particular so I can reassess the way moderation is handled.

You are heavily implying that I am bitter, chasing clout, and a liar.

No doubt, you have locked threads when they are too negative towards SB.

Dude, I fucking hate the company, and I'm not shy about it. Why would I lock a post for hating on a company I hate?

Can you link me a thread that you're talking about in particular? I'd like to know what might lead to this conclusion, since it's the polar opposite of how we handle moderation there.
