I was recently asked to consider becoming a shift lead pretty quickly. I’ve only been with Starbucks for about 8 months total, not counting my Covid leave and I love this company. However a lot of old baristas and shifts mention how bad the company has shifted. any opinions on becoming a shift? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I should mention my store manager is very toxic which is why there’s an opening for a shift; we just had a shift quit on us right on the spot.

Shift is rough enough without an un-supportive manager. It is a lot of extra responsibility.

Honestly if the manager is ass I say don't do it. Having a bad manager makes everything a lot harder and stressful for you, especially while trying to run the shift

I’ve been a shift for a long time and it’s been amazing until my current toxic af manager. A good manager is easy to work under. A toxic one isn’t worth the stress.
