how...how tf did you leave. i’m having the hardest time finding a job elsewhere because i don’t have experience outside of food service and i haven’t finished my degree yet. i keep telling myself i’ll stick with the bux until i finish undergrad simply because of SCAP but i really don’t think i can stand to stay that much longer. i’m more burnt out than i thought possible and at risk of sounding silly (like damn girl just...apply for more jobs), i guess i’m looking for advice 🥲

Hahahahah I got fired because the manager hated me and found out I was submitting a case for workplace harassment. I confessed to a barista while breaking down in the BoH that I was either quitting or I would call PCC for a hostile work environment case. I was fired less than a week later.

I would have stayed with Starbucks if I never moved home and had to transfer to that hell of a store. I went from a fantastic store... to one of the shittiest stores I've ever been in both as a customer and as an employee.

oh god that sounds like a seriously traumatic experience, i’m so sorry!! obviously getting fired isn’t ideal and can’t feel great but i am glad that you’re not stuck in that environment anymore. i feel like starbucks SMs can either be incredible or the scum of the earth, not a whole lot of in between from what i’ve seen/heard stories of

I also worked at Starbucks as an undergrad to help with tuition. I was also extremely stressed and burnt out by the end of my 15-month run (store was the busiest in our region, kept losing employees, was slow to hire new people, then did not adequately train them), and I got out by getting a job at my university as a student employee. I know that may be an especially difficult thing to do now because of COVID, but I'm sure there's at least one faculty or staff member you have a good relationship with whose brain you can pick. There are usually tutoring and research assistant jobs. Good luck and I hope this helps!

Have you tried applying to stores that have a Starbucks kiosk? It’s very different than a corporate location, but Target Bux pay a decent wage

what are you going to school for???
yeeet-haw-baybee [OP] 1 points 2y ago
marketing 🥴 and i’m not even sure if i’m truly interested in that, i just feel like i *have* to go to school or i’ll never progress in life lmao???

that’s totally valid!! if you’re having a hard time finding a new job, MAYBE you could try transferring to another store, to have a new scenery and new coworkers and maybe it’ll distress for a little to give a little bit of a change?? that’s what one of my coworkers is trying to do.

i have definitely thought about it, especially because the goal rn is to move to a different state and it’s basically either transfer to another sbux there orrrr find something that pays a living wage so i can more comfortably afford to move? i guess? i dunno there’s like one too many factors at play making my brain go brrrr

maybe you could find a job related to your major. i recently got certified to be a substitute teacher. although the school year is almost over maybe in a couple months for the next one you could try it out. idk where you live but in GA you get $80-90 a day
