It’s not perfect but this is the best flat white I’ve ever made and I’m proud of it.(i.redd.it)

You got the dot and that’s the important part!!!! If you groom the foam a little more before you pour it’ll get rid of those big bubbles 🙂

Yes, grooming is important although I find that sometimes event when I groom it, the bubbles don’t pop. But I’m working on it!

When I was new i had the same problem with bubbles persisting even after grooming the heck out of the milk.
I’m not entirely sure how the new Mastrena II is, but on the Mastrena I the group head moves up and down so what I do is I pull down the group head and rest it on the cup so that the espresso flows down the side rather than directly to the bottom and that helps avoid creating hard to pop bubbles in the espresso.
By combining these two tricks, you should have a perfectly smooth head to create that signature dot and even latte art!

You gotta get a vortex going in the pitcher to help integrate the air into the milk so you end up with microfoam rather than hot milk and dry foam on top.

As someone else said, definitely have the espresso run down the side of the cup as they pour. It’s *so* much better

Bruh, it's not bad. Once you get the hang of doing flat whites, the dot will be bigger. Overly, we love to see it, nice job!!!
