At the end of the day the manager doesn’t mKe the call to close the store the district manager does. We were trying to close early on Monday because we had 5 people myself included except I wasn’t mentally with it so really there were 4. I ended up staying late and we were slammed. We’ve had 10 people quit in the last month, 1 more is leaving soon for college and another one has their 2 weeks notice in their car. We wanted to close at 4 because we are so understaffed and my shift told us my manager was trying to get approval to close from our DM and make him understand we can’t work like this. So it’s not your managers fault.

They actually closed the store a little earlier that day, so yes it is on my manager. Like I said, it’s also not my fault that they were short staffed. As a manager it is now on you to figure out what to do or where to get other coverage and you don’t know my manager like I do, she barely tries to lift a finger and will go around any situation so that she can do the least amount of work and not call the DM. You said it yourself, you can’t work under certain conditions and none of that is any of you guys fault when that was happening either.

I’ve had managers like that. One of mine would spend the day playing solitaire on the computer in the back and literally did nothing about bullying in our store. There are certain instances though where we are responsible for finding coverage. I don’t call out but always try and find it. They can’t always find coverage from somewhere else. I’m not blaming you in anyway just saying that managers have to go through district managers too for situations where mobile orders need to be turned off or close early. If you don’t have the staff you don’t have the staff that’s not you’re fault. Maybe more people need to be scheduled.

Omg that is sick but same here. My manager sits in the back all day on fb or says she’s in a meeting but she’s really not then will walk out at 4 see us super busy and short staffed and then say something like “I hate to leave you guys like this” and then will walk out. And also did nothing about bullying that was going on months ago at my store too. And yes I understand that it’s not my managers fault like all the way but I wish managers would show more effort and concern for their employees. Especially when concerns have been brought out how we are short staffed and she needs to hire more people for nights instead of hiring employees for the mornings every week. There’s no way I can look for coverage if there are literally about 5 closers in this whole store. I would feel more sympathy for my manager when situations like that happen, but seeing as she’s incredibly lazy and unprofessional, I don’t feel anything for her.
