human waste cleanup?!?! (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by lilcambofag
aren’t we not allowed to clean up/touch human waste? this mother and daughter came in and the mother talks to my partner on bar and is just like “she didn’t make it to the bathroom so it’s a mess in there” we all were understanding because her daughter was special needs and literally couldn’t help it but like,,, the mother showed no remorse, did not apologize at all, and just left us with a piss covered bathroom. so my shift calls our manager and my manager has the AUDACITY to tell my poor shift to just clean it up. like i’m pretty sure i remember there being something in the online training about needing to call professionals for human waste cleanup? please tell me if i’m wrong but i just felt so bad for my shift because she is absolutely not paid enough to deal with this bs.

Call facilities and they should send out somebody who cleans up hazardous materials/waste.

Yeah, cleaning up human waste is a no go. Policy is to lock the bathroom and call for professionals to clean it.

Yea, it’s against policy. You’re supposed to call facilities and lock it up. We’ve had several (adult) people have accidents in our cafe. We closed it down. I’ll be goddamned if I’m gonna clean up human waste for what I’m getting paid lol.

Snitch on your manager lmao that's wayyy against policy and incredibly inhumane to make someone do

yea the training modules say call a cleaning crew or like sanitation crew

That is not only against Sbux, but also against most health codes, and basic human survival instincts.
