i’m thinking of applying for a job, is the dress code as restrictive as it sounds? (self.starbucksbaristas)

The nail and the ring thing is for health and safety reasons. Nail polish can chip off in food and drinks and you're allowed limited rings, again, it's a safety thing.

yeah i figured that out after doing some research. i’m guessing there’s no way around it either?? like wearing gloves?

definitely no nail polish or rings (only one i believe)... as for dress code it really depends on the store, the one i worked at was very strict a couple times the SM even wrote up partners for wearing shirts she THOUGHT were out of dress code but actually weren’t 😅

why are you being downvoted lol? it’s okay to not want to work here.. tf

haha it was probably a stupid question since the dress code is online. i just wanted to make sure it was really as strict as it sounds.

yes unfortunately very strict on those food safe policies because that’s a legal issue. pants/skirts and shirts are a bit more relaxed

depending on your store manager the dress code can be chill. i’m pretty sure rings can be worn as long as they don’t have a jewel or crystal, but nail polish is a definite no. i wear tons of pins that i like and are starbucks standard to express myself, but if you really enjoy having your nails done, food service might not be a great option.
